Autobahn time? Yes, I agree that iRacing is too expensive, but I can't say anything about the physics of the game as I've never tried the game.
But for me - LFS is the best racing sim out there. It's cheap, simple, fun and has a great community (gotta love AtomAnt's posts eh?).
Since I got my LFS licence, I haven't really played anyother racing sims only tried them (netKar PRO and some others), and I never really got into them. I seriously have to say that LFS is a great game, and I will continue to play it for a long time. No mather how long it takes for new updates to come.
I really wish Scawen to continue the great work, and only release the new physics when they're perfect.

Why would a person that got kicked/banned from WKD go and advertise the server?
And how difficult would it be to fix those issues?

The throttle seperation isn't a problem, but the fact that the FFB doesn't work (well it works in-game, but all it does is turn the wheel to the left??).
Another thing I noticed it runs on 180 degrees when I use the command that you supplied to me. I know there's a button combo to force 900 degrees though, so that's not really a problem

What's the best way for a complete Ubuntu and Linux noob like me to set this up for my DFGT?

After watching some YouTube videos with the processor comparison when playing a 720p movie, the 1st netbook plays it fine, the 2nd netbook lags a bit.
I suspect the issue could be that the 1st netbook has a 1280 x 720 resolution where as the D255 has a 1024 x 600 resolution, and the video needs to be down-scaled for the smaller resolution...
But after finding out that the 1st netbook has a 720p resolution, I think I cannot say no to it.
It's much cheaper and seems to have better specs IMO.

The server quality is very good.
I had a test period on the Polish server and it was fine to play in Ireland!

Speedtest is always accurate for me. I always get 19.70~ mbps and my connection is a 20 mbps connection
