Surely because of the insane lag there was that last day, it was unplayable almost.
Anyway, back on topic, if you guys wanna keep discussing and throwing ideas about the ladder servers its fine... like I said, I already got my answer from one of the devs, wasnt my intention to hurt other ppl and if I did my apologies to you, my real intention was just to find out if there was a posibility to improve the lfs experience in this way, it seems that there is one so Im happy about it now.
How am I going to use them if you just banned me? Man, try to make some sense or please refrain from posting on this topic. You are about to join my Clowns List otherwise.
Shoe Maker: Im sorry but that´s my opinion, if you are considering closing your servers because of 1 person opinion then go ahead, its your server. What I was writing about is having an alternative to those kind of servers.
Besos.
Rigun: Little clown, try reading a bit before posting, ok? My previous thread was closed because ppl started fighting each other over STCC bans and I didnt get a proper answer to my question. Now that I got one it is safe for you to go back to your little fantasy world (macondo, lfsla or whatever you call it this days) and keep running there with your girlfriends, Im not going back even if I was being paid to do it. Kisses.
Tweaker: I understand your idea but I dont like it that much... I prefer the STCC rotating system, I can be forced to drive tracks I dont know that well but not cars I dont like. Its more like in real life drivers situation where they race a specific car or class but if the organization decides to have a race in the middle of the desert they have to do it even if they dont like the hot weather, and thats fine, but nobody is forcing them to drive another car.
- Lag is administrators fault when its happening regulary, if your server cant handle 20 racers without lag then make it for less people.
- You can also use the internet to find what a ladder server is before replying, but I think I already pointed to the STCC servers as an example.
Sorry about that, its just that its actually my 2nd post on the more or less same subject but the previous post got closed because ppl where fighting each other over another subject... I think STCC bans and stuff. Thanks for replying anyways and I know it should take time to do it right but it would be very cool.
Chanote!!
Yeah, I would like an official LFS ladder, kinda like STCC with different classes (open wheel, street cars, race cars) but with official servers owned by Scawen and company...
Ok, here goes my rant. I just came from racing online with the car Im racing this days the most, FOX. Ok, so I click on multiplayer filtered by FOX available and ofcourse the only servers with a reasonable ammount of racers on are the redlines. But with them you get... the morons that disobey blue flag all the time or crash you before even first turn, the same dumb tracks that the admins are scared to change god knows why (Blackwood and Aston Club), now you have also L-A-G (lots of it, despite the admins denying it of course) and the bonus, the admins with an attitude the size of a soccer stadium that cant even win 2 races in a row despite having 15000 laps with the combo but anyway cant stop acting like they are stars and expecting everyone to kiss their butts just because they own a server.
I want an official alternative to that, because the other unofficial alternatives are waiting 2 weeks for my next league race or hotlapping like a robot, and I dont like neither of those. And if we cant have an official ladder I wanna know why, because to me it doesnt make sense not having it seeing the success the STCC is. And YES, the ladder should be OPTIONAL but still official, like the hotlap ranks.
And why cant they do it with the help of someone like Becky Rose? After all its his system. They dont have to do everything alone... And also do you read what you are typing? You are comparing very irrelevant stuff (yeah I want the rewind button too) with something that could add a huge ammount of value to the game if it was implemented rightly.
This would unify the racing aspect of the game, I want to race but... I want to know where I really stand internationally and I want it to be official. So far the only way you can "compete" in this way is doing dumb solo laps offline and uploading them later to LFSWorld. And because of that, racers are more famous for their hotlapping skills than their racing skills, and that I find it a joke. We have a system that could change all that, that could be tested, improved and perfected before launch... with official LFS ladder servers like a mix between America´s Army and MMORPGs, with rotating tracks, with cool licence system, with maybe monthly race events for the best scorers... someone has to get the picture! Or not? And the best of all is that YES, you could still choose not to race with the new system and keep doing hotlaps or racing on the leagues you like more with whatever cars you wanted. Why is this so hard to understand? Is my english that bad?
Funny, I still cant find in this thread a valid reason for not making, at least optional, the STCC ladder system idea PART of the game. It´s a shame really how close minded some people are. Why dont you keep hotlapping and let the rest of us have even more fun? Nobody asked to close your hotlap charts.
Notice to everyone that is saying "compulsory" or "forced" STCC that I didnt say that, to me it should be like another OPTION in the game, but definetly BUILT-IN.
I mean, come on, take LFSWorld for example... its a great part of the game but dont you think its kinda wasted with all those hotlap rankings, thats not racing, thats... well... hotlapping. And if that wasnt enough theres like a whole system of Nutter Rank, Nationality rank and all... come on!
And for the real racing theres only a mini-rank with the "most wins in a month" people that race in 2 people races (not all, I know, but you get my point). I mean I like to see fast laps too but dont you think theres something missing?
Dont get me wrong though, I love LFS, I been racing it since it started, I just think that this, if its done correctly, could improve the overall LFS experience a lot for a lot of people like me, thats all.
Thanks to everyone for your opinions, anyways, maybe I need to clarify a bit... I think that STCC is a great system, maybe not to all but at least for people like me who likes the added bonus of racing for points, points that in the end could give you rights to participate in a sort league of champions, or something like that. Cuz as it is right now with LFS theres like a lot of leagues and not really one league where the best of the best race. Of course if you were to participate on that part of the LFS experience it would be your decision (nobody would force you), you could still race in non-ladder based servers "for fun" or have "private" championships, but it would be a nice addon to the game to have this sort of option. And of course the STCC is not perfect as it is, there are still things that need to be corrected and improved, starting with the cars currently used but thats another topic.
I think the STCC is a brilliant system to race and its beautifuly inplemented, to me stands above all the regular championships (and obviously regular servers) for various reasons. I dont race very much now there because I kinda got tired of the "street" cars but the thing is that I would really like this ladder to be directly supported by the LFS team, it really adds a lot to the game the way its done. What do you think?
