I haven't raced S2 much since the alpha was released, I must admit, (into doing setups myself, and having the goal-posts moved regularly by frequent physics changes makes any knowledge gained pointless)
I've never considered myself a fast racer, (on rally cross I used to cut quite a dash though )
I find myself sorta put off by the eliteism and find that as a 'newbie' again, LFS is probably losing interest as a result of this sort of attitude.
I visit this forum more regularly than I race and sometimes doubt whether I will take up the wheel again when eventually S2 proper is released.
Vic still owes me a pint though so I might lurk till then lol
I'd be interested to come along again, last time was great fun. Miight depend on the 'where' more this time, it was quite a long way... midlands perhaps?
I use a cheapo fresnel lens with my setup and it really is a fantastic way of allowing a higher FOV setting and greater immersion.
after reading some of these links, I'm seriously thinking about getting a couple of those 'high res' F550's and using my old monitor for a dual monitor setup..
Anybody successfully had a radeon 9800pro (or any radeon, I s'pose) running LFS across 2 monitors, or is it only Nvidia cards that can be used this way?
Bob, that track layout is really great, shame the MRT makes it seem so small... any chance you've got an MRT setup that even slightly resembles the karts we were using?
I've tried myself, but using a locked diff and rear only braking, I still end up with a set that either ploughs into the wall with understeer or spins rediculously on gas or brake...
I don't think that any LFS settings could get my MOMO to produce the sort of forces we coped with that day...lol
