I run the ever loving crap out of my 1978 TT500/XT500 (hybrid of the two). Loads of torque on a light bike. Wheelies and sideways everywhere.
The trails keep washing out which makes riding a little more fun.
Oh hell, I overtake 2-5 in a row all the time without speeding or doing anything illegal.
I have done my share of passing lines of cars at outrageous speeds as well but when some dork is doing 35mph in a 60 zone and everyone is too chicken to pass, I am not waiting.
Sitting at the back of a line of stopped cars is also very dangerous. All those people texting, talking on the phone, eating, doing makeup, and so on make me nervous.
When traffic in front suddenly stops (people hard on the brakes to stop/ panic braking), there is no chance in hell that I am going to play it legal by stopping and have the person behind me pancake me to the car in front. I take the safe route on the shoulder or between cars. I can stop, the idiot behind me texting will NEVER stop in time.
lol! Epic response to that. I figured I could get some trolling replies.
It's a capacitor. 25V is maximum voltage. Yes, I AM replacing the battery with it. That's the whole point of a battery eliminating capacitor. I needed a minimum of 50,000µF and 16V for my Kawasaki KZ900. They don't make anything specific so you use a computer grade capacitor (or two if you can't find one with enough capacity).
Oh yes, it starts. It's called a damn Kick starter! Yeah, you use the power of your leg to start a 4-cylinder motorcycle. WHAT A CONCEPT!
I am not buying a Yokohama again. Everything was fine and then BOOM, gone. It was less than a second from when I felt a vibration in the wheel to all hell broke loose.
I claim part ownership to this one! 1966 Pontiac GTO. Getting finishing touches on the paint.
Gotta love those trucks. Huge rocks stuck in the tread and even bigger ones between the tires results in this expensive BS.
I had just gotten my car back together and within the first 5 minutes on the test run I get a busted windshield. That was the original windshield that has been in since 1988.
My lower radiator hose slid partly off and got cut by the power steering pump pulley so I was replacing it. I got it off and I decided to see why my balance shaft belt has been whining. I got there and my timing belt was soaked in oil, so I took everything else off.
The balance shaft o-ring was so hard that it shattered when I was replacing it so I am replacing all the o-rings and seals on the front of the engine.
Glad I caught it when I did because it was about to get a billion times worse. It did not take long for everything to get caked with sludge.
Don't feel bad about your problem... I bought a flywheel and the box said "MADE IN CHINA". Now I have to pull it back out because it is about 2-3mm too big around and it ate a starter.
THANK YOU CHINA!!!!
That job was a pain in the butt wasn't it? That stupid tin shield is so horribly placed and makes the whole task rage inducing. I just wanted to pull out my tin snips and cut part of it off. :wtf2: I never EVER want to pull one of those transmissions again. I thought doing the clutch in my 944 was bad but I'd rather do that again than touch another mk3 trans.
Edit: Oh, you pulled the front end off. I wonder if that made it any easier. I had to roll the trans onto my chest and the push it up in before fighting it but I left the front end on the car.
I'm fast in both worlds but my name isn't on anybody's list.
There are things that transfer both ways but you have to know what you are doing to begin with either way. What makes a lot of guys good is their ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes. Either way the basics between LFS and reality are there, however there are some differences to adjust for. You can't see, hear, or feel things as well in LFS which makes it interesting and gives a challenge on its own.
Yeah, I can't afford to upgrade my computer much less buy games. I have both IL-2 Sturmovik as well as 1946, and have been into flight sims since Flight simulator 1998 or that F-22 game, can't remember.
Long time lover of WWII planes. Does it count if I have a B-17G model with a 4 foot wingspan? Never did finish my P-38J though.
Here are some more shots from CO then. Up at about 9,500ft elevation.
These roads look nowhere near as bad as they are. That first one is creepy, one slip and you are going for a one way trip down a huge cliff.
I need to take something smaller next time, stupid truck is too wide and too long for any of the fun stuff but I was there for work, not fun
Glad I have E.Reiljans on my ignore list. Cleans out a lot of that Dolan crap.
Reply to below: No content analyzer needed. The last few pages were reason enough.
I know I am not the only one that can't stand that crap and I block anyone that posts it regularly.
Other than a slight whine in 5th, no. They normally do though.
I only had the truck for a few days and had not had the time to look it over before my sister took it for a 600 mile trip and it did not make the last 300. Ended up costing $2000 to put another trans in. That transmission is noisy, pain in the a** to get into gear, and grinds depending on its mood. 4 years later and I am tired of the POS that's in it and want the nice original back in it.
Have you ever wondered what happens when you believe a salesman when they say "All the fluids have been changed"? Well, this is what happens. They replaced the gear oil with a whole lot of air. Thank you Purifoy Chevrolet.
Note the discoloration on the outer bearing casing. Yeah, they get hot without any lube. Needless to say, that bearing does not spin anymore.
Result is a two piece input shaft. Amazingly the rest of the trans is perfect. The damn thing weighs more than a VW engine though.
