Quote from Timo1992 :Might have been posted some years ago, but I'm still impressed by the way ALO was making up his way through nearly the whole field at hungary 06

He also beated Schumi, but that was because the michelin wet tires were much better than bridgestone back in 2006

So much understeer and the steering work seems kart-like (sharp motion in rain) Anyhoo, superb drive!
V8's with TC sure sounded nice...

Quote from gezmoor :And you'd know that how exactly??? Driven both?? Either?? or anything even remotely close to either??

The old cars may not have pulled the G-Forces that modern F1 cars are capable of but that doesn't automatically mean they were less demanding to drive.

Yes it does. What else changed since these days? Steering? Well they may have power assistance today, but it's still rack and pinion. Bumpier tracks? The suspensions were softer. Climate hasn't changed much since the 60s, so it isn't any cooler in the cockpit.

So add up g-forces and increased stress on the brain (higher speeds) and there you have it: nowadays driving F1 is much more demanding than in the 60s.

Almost off-topic: hell, they used to eat cheeseburgers before races and win afterwards back in the 80s...

Quote from 5haz :It would be nice to see the FIA make an attempt at being consistant.

Truly brilliant drivers can get in any car and be on the pace almost immediately, one example being Jim Clark, if Schumacher really is as brilliant as many people make him out to be then he should be fairly near the pace from the start.

Oh yeah, Jim Clark's era's cars demanded the same fitness levels as contemporary cars. Uh-huh.

Bye, Nelson!

Why not replace that brat with Bourdais? He's French and Renault is French. Wouldn't it be a great combo?

Quote from SamH :LOL! I'm trying to decide, now, if I did actually hit Godwin's law head on. I don't think I did by Mike Godwin's own definition. If I'd called someone else, who was involved in this thread, a Nazi, that woulda been me busted.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/76621 Mosley really is a dictator. People are afraid to run against him.

Quote from Ripley :Yes, at the current state maybe only "yaw" rotation is enough...I am a supernoob with setups, so I often need to rotate the car in order to see which setup parameter changes what...
When LFS will model the bottom of cars, we'll probably need the "pitch" rotation too (excuse me for using aviation terms).

I only thought of a more practical way of rotating objects.
Maybe the Devs decided for the arrows because car rotation now is only around one axis, but if rotation should take place around more axis simultaneously, you easily see how "arrows system" isn't practical anymore.

And no, it's not for viewing skins.

What exactly do you see that way?

It's more like Demented Max, not Mad Max

Isn't it ridiculous when a man stirs everything up just to show that he's still got some authority? Is it possible to justify Mosley's actions in any other way?

If we're talking about racing, WR replays should answer your question. If we're talking about real life street driving, then I suppose short shifting is more convenient.

I'm using a momo racing wheel.
Please post your feedback on this setup, motah33

But I still need feedback from someone much faster than me

Hi

Even though I'm licensed (yay!) I still fancy FBM @ BL1. I have developed a setup for myself which I find fairly easy to drive and quite fast (for me). Now it's obvious that everyone wants to go faster and faster all the way beyond limits and I'm not an exception. That's why I wonder what hinders my progress. Is it my underdeveloped skills or incorrect setup? I'm attaching my current setup to this post with a hope that some fast fellow racer would bother to test it out. By fast I mean a PB in low 1:13's

BTW my current PB is 1:14.51...

P. S. Are there any non demo FBM BL1 servers out there?

Quote from MadCat360 :<...> I think, if Bawbag keeps trying, he can find another 8 hundredths and get into the 11s.

[Offtopic]I think it's clear that you can't get around BL1 with FBM in less than say 1:11, but you can push the limit endlessly and no one knows where is the absolute limit I always found that the most fascinating thing about racing...[/offtopic]

It's a funny thing I actually broke my PB with FBM twice today and I happened to have tried XRG earlier that day. I don't really know how, but driving a slower (or just different) car can actually improve your laptimes. At least it worked for me :P

Since majority of people are consumers who are allergic to thinking, they'll watch the series with better PR

If there's an opportunity, I'll watch both series.

This tool is really something
A setup balanced according to VHPA handles in a very peculiar way. It's nor bad nor good, just different.

Is there some kind of tutorial on how to make best use of this tool?
