Question (hope it won't get lost in the noise):

Is this the general direction that LFS is to take in the future? I mean that is the current intention (perhaps in the absence of firm plans) that LFS will start to lean towards real life laser scanned tracks where possible? Also, will the trend towards real cars be something the devs are considering? Rockingham came up as an opportunity to take, but does this mean that Eric may still (present or future tense) continue developing fantasy tracks?

The slipstream effect needs to be reduced a little as at the moment you just need to be in the same postcode as the car in front and there is nothing they can do on a decent sized straight.

So i go at this point then and play GP4 again with poor Rain

GP4 is still the benchmark for rain IMO. Drying lines have not been done better since.

Well I guess they won't need to change LFS's kerb physics for this new track.

Quote from 5haz :

If I was in such a position I would said no and if I felt the need to be such a grass I would've done it straight away, regardless of wether it threatened my position within the team, if they sacked me there and then at least I would be respected for blowing the whistle on some dirty deeds that needed to be stopped. Rather than simply using it as a pathetic personal vendetta long after it even matters any more.

Very easy to be principled on an internet forum with nothing at stake. You cannot possibly know what you would do in the same situation as you haven't spent 18 months being brow-beaten by Briatore.

Chances are, with your job at stake - and your future career - a little cheating wouldn't seem such a heinous thing. Not saying it's right, but that's real life for you.

Piquet has gone up a few notches in my estimation. Firstly, the disgraceful behaviour of Briatore at the last GP (leaving before the end because Alonso was out) really summed up how Piquet was seen and treated in the team. Secondly he whipped off his race suit to reveal a fairly big pair of bollocks by having a right old go at Flav both before and after he was shown the door.

I think given the right personal development he could have a career in F1. Shine in a Campos and everyone will forget what happened at Renault. Look at Button - rubbish last year, marvellous now. All it takes is a confluence of positive circumstances and suddenly you're a better driver, even though personally you're not trying any harder (maybe less so).

Quote from 5haz :Being a street circuit, even without the stupid testing ban, drivers don't get much time to learn the circuit at Valencia, so the playing field is relatively more level than at other circuits such as Barcalona.

Quote from dekojester :Not to come off as harsh or anything, and this is NOT directed at anyone in particular, but.....

Cold tyres are only foolish when the drivers in the machines at the time forget that they are on cold tyres and still think that their tyres are at full operating levels. THAT is where things go wrong. NOT the rules, not the length of SC periods. It's part of the problem with some driving standards in LFS, on my view, but no amount of rules or lessening SC periods will change the fact that on the track, it is the DRIVER IN THE CAR who has the job of KNOWING his/her car to drive it within the limits of what it is. Don't expect a hotlap quality lap every lap. It's RACING, not hotlapping. Perfect temperature tyres are for hotlapping, not racing. Deal with what you've got for the racing conditions. If there's an SC and your tyres are cold, don't push full throttle through the turns that you can on a longer run until your tyres get back up to normal temperatures.

Just make sure you have a good, clean race with the hand you've been dealt at the time, regardless of what it is.

What a joke.

You don't think about money when you're racing. I didn't give Maz Moseley's supposed riches one seconds thought during the last three laps of the first oneGP round when I had SK's Martin Krause up my trumpet trying to steal my win.

Quote from Becky Rose :
The problem there is everyone being on the same lap, and forcing people to start with damage. Or you could allow pitting but that in turn results in the need for software to monitor fuel taken onboard in pit stops. It would be needlessly complicated and add time to the whole organisation of the event with people running off meeningless laps just so everyone can start with the same lap count.

You simply run the session as a clean 10-15mins and then don't return to the lobby before starting the race. Drivers in the shootout cannot Shift-P/S and when the race session starts their damage and fuel is reset, so they start the race with the fuel they had at the start of the final Q session. In this sense it is more like 2006 with the fuel credit mullarkey, but still provides room to make strategic choices. The grid can be easily set via Insim app.

Given the current malaise in LFS (as witnesses by the demise of oneGP) I suggest that for the good of the community we try to make the healthiest competition (OWRL) as strong as possible. Interested drivers should go to www.owrl.de and ask about signup before the end of the summer break.

Better one strong competition than three weak ones.

Quote from DaveWS :At times I think why the hell did I bother spending a fortune on iRacing, after the last 2 shocking races I've had. The one I've had just now in the F Mazda just takes the ****ing biscuit.

Basically I'm driving in my first ever Mazda race, and it's lap 22 (iirc), and I've been leading for the whole race. In the slower middle section of the lap, I get a bit of a tailslapper developing (the way this car snaps about is just wrong btw), which I recover from but obviously lose time in. However, moments later I'm struggling again to put the power down, and the guy behind can't react fast enough and wacks me from behind. The collision system (which is ****ing worse than LFS!) then sends me 3 light years off the track, with collossal damage. I wasn't sure if iRacing repairs your car in the pits, but I knew a 5th place or so would be better than a DSC regarding iRating etc. So anyway I try and get back to the pits, but the car is ****ed, and sends me into multple more spins, and to top it off, my car did not get repaired so I had to spectate after all that. God I'm pissed right now.

I stuck it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLMOswWxbuI

Don't see the problem to be honest. Of course it's unlucky to get hit like that but the distance and damage don't look particularly different to that one might expect in real life.

According to Sam Michael, Rosberg had a fuel pickup problem, had to pit early and drove the rest of the race with 15kg extra fuel. An even more stunning performance than it first appeared.

Quote from TexasLTU :BF1 + no TC =

I guess you haven't driven it much then. I suppose it's macho to say "No TC" but in a proper league race it just becomes a new limit, so you alter your driving style a little and it's all the same again.

I think Webber has had a tenth or two on him through FP and Q and if it wasn't for Kimi at Stowe it would have been close.

After T1 it will be Vettel, Webber then Nakajima.

Good luck to Hammond - he's just trying to make money for his family.

The only time he annoys me is when he say, "I think you know where this is going"... as in:

"We've got a caravan and 10,000 pounds of TNT - I think you know where this is going."

Everyone who gets fed up waiting for the next LFS patch should be directed to that site, made to read the forum posts of the sad wraiths who still post there wondering if the game will get finished - and THEN tell them that Racing Legends was their 2nd attempt at writing a game - the first one got no further either.
