Barcelona has a deal until 2011, so everyone will have to put up with it for a while yet.

Apparently the singapore street/night race has been confirmed too:

Need a better source for that one.

F08 and Westhill is boring. UFR or XFR are great there, very challenging track.

F08 works well on on KY Nat, would like something quick to deal with the straight. The tradeoff between downforce and topspeed , which this track emphasizes, suits the F08.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Then the front-running racer went back to the other front-running racers with a silly grin on his face and said "You'll never guess what I just told that berk of a journalist over there..."

This would be boss. I love racing with people from all over, it's a very appealing feature that should be represented.

Quote from duke_toaster :It's a non reason.

What about people who don't want to show their licence name? Should they have that option? Real racing licences have a nationality on, they should in LFS.

I think privacy concerns obviously trump this. No reason to exclude those who don't wish to reveal any details outside of LFS.

Quote from wsinda :rewindable replays will probably be added somewhere in the not-too-distant future.

I think you're wrong on that one, unless you know something we don't.

Clearly we need a pit system similar to that of Days of Thunder for the Nintendo.

http://www.mobygames.com/game/ ... ys-of-thunder/screenshots

You can see the birds eye pit stop view. You have a pit crew, and you have to make each guy do his job in order. First you control the jack man, jack up one side, change the tires. Run the jack man to the other side, bring in the fuel guy. It was intense!

Simulated tire wear and heat, engine damage, body damage, fuel(i don't think fuel affected handling)

Quote from XsX! :its not really a bump map in that case, more like an alpha map.
i think you could add the white line by editing the alpha channel of the texture

What joen described is exactly how a bump map works. An alpha map would make parts of the tire invisible(by altering the alpha value).

The story I heard was that Bernie got word that the americans use red tires for softs, and then didn't allows bridgestone to do the same thing in f1. Instead we got the dot.

And karting is meant to be the cheapest form of motorsport you can get

You could buy and run a pocket bike for a whole season for that weekly money.

Ferrari started them last year, around the same time the Renault's nose ballast was banned if I recall. They're stated purpose is better brake cooling, which work as tristan described.

Quote from The Moose :It doesn't matter who you vote for, you end up with politicians.

Thread over.

I would also agree that criticizing Bush jr. is not america bashing, because Bush only represents at best, 49% of the nation, and he pretty openly resents the chunk that's greater than 51%. I'll stop there cuz it's pretty off topic.

Off topic unless of course you are talking about WMD's, which is a completely manufactured term that can be intending to mean anything or nothing. A term with such flexibility that it justfified, for some, this horrible occupation. Now everyone realizes it will not end for another decade. 10 years that nation will be at war, if the US leaves or not.

I'm not sure that enforcing a rule that doesn't exist is going to make racing online any better. As many have said, blue flag just means there's a car approaching that you aren't fighting for position with.

The finish included the entire field because of the new 'overtime' rule. Doesn't take a genius to figure out overtime+restrictor plate=huge crash. But yeah, sucks that martin didn't win, but first place is a sitting duck in that situation really.

People should start packing things in 7-zip's .7z, they offer better compression than rars.
I'd say, in general:
7-z > rar/bzip > pkzip2 > gzip

Quote from Tweaker :so I guess it all comes down to what you've bought for your team, and how those items performed in the actual GP?

Bingo, it's a pool, or 'fantasy sports'. So you'll have to wait for the aussie gp like the rest of us suckers.
