I caved and updated my gaming PC. I even got a Win 7 license but only because I thought sticking a 32-bit XP install on it might be a bit too bloody-minded even for me.

Oh. I figured their prices would reflect retail prices, otherwise what's the point?

EA are pretty stupid.

I thought about buying BF3 today, until I saw the prices on Origin.

Why isn't it cheaper yet?

What are you using the RPi for? I couldn't think of a reason to buy one in the end.

If you punched another player and broke his jaw you would also in all likelihood receive a red card. Does that mean it's part of the game?

Tempted to post-script this by reminding you what a ****ing idiot you are but it never seems to sink in.

Quote from BlueFlame :Getting a red card isn't AGAINST the rules either, it's a part of the game. It's normal for players to get a few reds in their career.

I didn't like what Suarez did in the WC either, but you just have to accept it. He did it because it wasn't illegal to do so and he wanted to save the team losing which he did.

Similarly, there's nothing wrong with murdering people. You get sent to jail but it's part of life isn't it? Loads of people murder other people and go to jail, it's normal.

Quote from Klutch :She says I'm down here on my knees
so I'm begging you please

I think I saw that on World's Most Original Rhymes.

It was right before 'I'm so in love with you / I don't know what to do'.

****ing genius.

Quote from ACCAkut :well, in real life clutch feel differs a lot from car to car. VW clutches for me have a more resistance then say Renault ones, and some small Toyota Yaris I once drove had a clutch that wouldn't snap back at all, really weird.

Every Renault I've driven (including the Clio I helped a guy bump start at the supermarket yesterday) the bite point has been almost at the end of the pedal travel, it actually put me off buying one.

The pedal on my current Focus is quite heavy though, I don't like that either tbh! Clutches, they're all shit.

What more does he need to compete with a tax-dodging Mormon psychopath?

Romney, honestly, the very idea that anyone in the USA would vote for him is what makes the rest of the world think you're all mental.

Quote from Racer X NZ :Upset about the US wanting to rule the world, you bet, so I claim the right to comment.

Empires come and empires go, don't worry about it, the USA is on the wane now anyway they'll be bit-part players in twenty years just like the UK is now.

You should be worrying about China. Plus they're a lot nearer to you and they seem to have odd notions about ownership of islands in the Pacific.

Isn't it a bit myopic to rant about the state of democracy in the USA without acknowledging that it's no better in 99% of other countries in the world?

Hell, our queen is officially YOUR head of state, and your country is on the opposite side of the world. How did you end up in that situation? Not to mention that your parliament has been completely dominated by the same two parties for generations, just like our parliament and those of most other democratic nations.

Sounds like you need to sort your own shit out.

Hmm. Good luck. I don't ever put musical gear in the holds of aeroplanes any more. If I'm playing overseas I arrange rental gear, it saves a whole ton of hassle and worry and hours on the phone with Allianz trying to replace everything the airline smashed.

Quote from 11SuLLy11 :My last purchase!

A mate of mine got his iPhone 5 yesterday. It's a nice device, Siri is better than I thought it would be, I still don't think the screen aspect ratio makes any sense though and the dimensions make it feel a bit odd in the hand. Certainly a good phone though. Apple Maps is better than I expected too and well integrated.

My last purchase: 2 sets of Rotosound RS66 .040-.100, a set of Ernie Ball bronzes and a bunch of nylon bridge pins. Exciting. :/

Oh and 2 tickets for Easy Star All Stars next month, and Ben Folds Five in December.

What are you planning to use the tablet for?

I think they're useful in business - wherever you need a very portable computer and the software only needs a very simple interface (and the iPad is a good unit but the closed nature of iOS and iTunes make it a massive pain in the arse to develop bespoke software for it) - but why consumers buy them I've no idea. Probably because they've got disposable income and can't think of anything better to waste it on.

Just wait for something to show up closer to you. If you drive for four hours to see a car you are going to factor that journey into your decision to buy it or not when you get there.

Shame about Grosjean he seems like a good guy but he has T1 phobia, well done Kamui, Alonso's retirement was his own fault, nobody was ever going to catch Vettel anyway.

Best thing the BBC ever did was give Gary Anderson a job, he has been great this season.

The Guinea Pig Club: Not a film but a play, written by Sid Watkins' wife Susan, about Archie McIndoe's pioneering treatment of burns victims during the second world war.

It's premiering at York Theatre Royal and it's a good show. Tonight was opening night and Ron Dennis and Dave Richards both turned up.

I'll get some batteries today I've got a bunch of stuff that take those batteries that have all run out.

I don't think it's that though. The lock button works just fine so surely there must be enough charge in it.

Too late I bought it already. It doesn't seem to have any issues though, it was owned from new by an old couple who've babied it and done about 5000 miles a year, it feels like a new car tbh.

There's a rust spot under one wing mirror and another in a wheel arch but that's it, rest of the bodywork is spotless and so are the alloys. And the remote key unlock button doesn't work very well, but that's probably just a dirty contact. And for a 1.6 it's quicker than I expected too so that's a bonus. I reckon it'll do me for three or four years if I want to keep it that long, not bad for just over a grand.

To some extent, yes!

Off to see a Focus that looks just the job this evening. 2001, 70k on it, full service history, one owner. Then I've got two weeks before the MOT date to thoroughly destroy this Fiesta.
