Quote from G!NhO :way better

I wouldn't say they are waaaaay better, but there is definitely something about the iRacing graphics that make LFS start to show it's age. When I go back to LFS these days, I'm noticing that everything on screen seems to "sparkle" a little, like everything is too sharp. I don't remember if I have any hi-res LFS textures installed though...

iRacing, despite the "haze" option in LFS, seems to represent atmospheric perspective a little better. The iRacing colors, IMO, are a little too saturated but that can be tuned out with your screen.

Quote from richard dk :I think I was in that race. I saw your comments after the race about starting last and finished second..
But not everybody spun, some got pushed off by others - and sadly I was one of them!..
#3 in that race had 16 Inc. in one race. There are a lot of bad drivers in iRacing...

Now that I think about it I believe I was in that race too.

Quote from Hyperactive :
Anyhoo, I started 13th, dead last, on the grid with one simple goal in mind. No incidents whatsoever. After 1st lap I was 7th, after 8 laps I was 4th and I finished 2nd . I did not even pass anyone on the track, everyone just spun off. Even on the early stages of the race I let one driver pass me by giving room into T1 and even he spun off later in the race. I just cruised through the race like mother theresa on valium.

This is exactly what has been happening to me in my last few skippy races! Last skippy season (only ran one week) I kept getting grouped with the likes of Prather and Ross MacGregor, etc., and had no one to actually race against. I figured I'd take it easy the first two weeks this time, start from the back, lose some iRating and get bumped down to Div 2... Not a chance! Last two races at VIR I started from the back, took it slow, had 0 incidents, gained like 10 positions without actually making a pass, and now my iRating is almost over 3000. Damn it!

Fat Tire, from New Belgium in Colorado. Best amber ale around.
Moose Drool, made by Big Sky Brewing in Missoula, MT. Great brown ale.
Trout Slayer, also by Big Sky. Wheat Ale.
Sunshine Wheat, by New Belgium.

Actually, I highly recommend most everything from both Big Sky and New Belgium. Also, Scotch ftw...

The ears crack me up on this one.

I like how everyone decided that "cat" needed to be written next to their drawing.

Anyway...

Buy a case of beer and a box of diapers. When the cashier tells you that you don't have enough for both, put the diapers back.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Safety Ratings and iRatings are only in effect for the official Week 13 series. The unofficial series with the Mazdas and Radicals are not counting incidents or iRating points.

I'm having the same experience in the Radicals. No immature driving or wreckers, grids of 30 @ Sebring, some of the absolute best racing I've taken part in since I signed up... it's a shame it'll only last for a week.

Led Zeppelin and Queen are excellent choices, but no one changed the face of music like the Beatles...

Just reminding everyone... Week 13 started tonight... Radicals @ Sebring with no license requirements or safety ratings. Everyone was relatively well behaved in the first race.

Fresh blueberry muffins. Bought one this morning based solely on following my nose. Run on sentences ftw.

Just had a great race at LRP with AJ and another fast guy in the rookies. We (P1-3 on the grid) all jumped the start and somehow all made it back up to the front by the end. AJ took the win of course and I managed a third after serving my penalty. Fun race...

I think the skippy is great for learning vehicle dynamics, but can see why a lot of people want to, ahem... skip it.

Me on the other hand, I like it. Unfortunately I'm still stuck in this "did too well in the rookie solstice and now I'm getting my ass handed to me on a regular basis" thing. Seriously. I've no problem being at the back of the pack, but when there's no one else there to race with, 33 laps by yourself at Jefferson gets boring pretty quickly.

My average finish is probably 9th, but my average car number is probably 2 or 3. I can't seem to break into the 54s but can generally do high 55s all race without incident. That puts me way off pace from say, Ross J Macgregor or Josh Carr, but those are the guys winning the races I'm getting put in. I'm not learning anything from them except that they show up in my mirrors at around lap 29.

Hopefully with more time I'll be able to pick up some speed and find some closer rasing in the skippies. Either that or I slow way down...

Got mine as well! Can't decide between the Radical or the Mazda. Whatever I get will just be to tool around in, as my focus is with the skippy and the new Solstice season right now. Anyone have an opinion? The kid in me wants the Radical and the rest of me wants the Mazda for next season, but then of course I'd need a few more tracks....

Edit: Nevermind... holy crap the Radical is fun...

Quote from Inouva :I dont like the Bookmarks it hass , and i dont know how to pass mi BM from FF to GC , Any help? i tryed saving the BM of FF in HTML and JSN and tryed to load up in GC but no results

All my bookmarks were automatically transferred from FF to Chrome during the install, including those on the toolbar (which even stayed in the same order when they appeared in Chrome) ?? Everything should have been imported to "other bookmarks" at the very least, in which case you can just drag them up to the toolbar.

I'm liking it so far as well. Loading 99% of everything faster than FF. My only issue is the scroll speed/jumpiness with my touchpad. Haven't tried iRacing through it yet...

I think right now I just need to focus on getting more seat time in the skippy, it's only been a few days. I jumped into it not realizing where my iRating was and where it would put me.

I like the composure very much, but the car itself is a little dark.

I'll probably be in the 10:15 race. I'm 12th in the standings for the new rookie solstice season and don't want to run again in fear that a weak field will bring my points down... Now I understand all those guys at the top with only 1 start all week...

Edit: Same thing this race, I was car #2 behind some dude with an iRating of 3400, and there was no chance in hell I was finishing where the system expected me to. I fought harder than ever for 7th, and I'm just picturing my iRating plummeting with every new race...
