I would love to do some fresh league racing (it's been a long time) but I would enjoy a Kyoto oval throwback even if it was a standalone event. Anyone remember the FM Oval servers? Those were the days....I wonder what the ban list at that place looked like before it was shut down. They gave one chance to everyone not to crash and you were gone after that.

As sick as I am of the lack of new content in LFS, I'm disgusted quadruple-fold by its "community". What a great racing simulator being sullied by such blithering idiots. Scawen ought to close the forum, it is a cesspool.

I don't know what mechanisms one would need to add this, but I know for a fact that it is possible on Vista because many other full-screen games (such as Counter-Strike: Source, for example) have a setting that you can turn on for sound when the game is minimized. It helps tremendously when you're playing on a team and die, but still want to hear your team's commander while you do other stuff.

When selecting a track, hold Shift (or Ctrl, I forget) and then select either the X or Y that corresponds to each track.

People seem to forget that Call of Duty was a good series long before Black Ops ever came out. You're seriously going to sit there and tell me all of Call of Duty is bad when CoD4 (the first Modern Warfare) still is one of the greatest FPS games of all time? Incredible.

If you want a real FPS experience though, one without frills and levels and other junk, I'd seriously recommend trying Counter-Strike: Source if you haven't already. 9 years old now and it still is one of the most fun games I've ever played.

EDIT: Just read you want an offline experience. BF2 and CS:S have offline modes; however you'll be playing with bots and only bots. For a solid single-player adventure, try Half-Life 2, or Portal 2, or if you're dead set on shooters, try Unreal Tournament 2004 or the singleplayer on Call of Duty 4.

For the 15 minutes I watched, I got to see a static view of the track for the entire time, with an occasional LFS overlay coming up to show me what lap everyone was on. Sort of bland and boring, but if you were having issues with the camera/it was the cameraman's first try, then it was definitely above par.

Believe me, if I had a single friend that owned or played LFS, even the demo, I'd have them on the server all the time. Even just 1v1. Unfortunately I am the only person I know of that plays LFS

We need more people on this server. Every day that I used to come home at 3pm, it would be filled with people. Now it's always empty

I think LFS'ers are getting too picky with the suggestions in this forum....if you can sit here and say that flashing lights and sirens on a pace car is unrealistic for a driving simulator, then you need to pull your head out of your arse and watch a real race sometime

I can understand this, but it begs the question - who cares what you care to see? This is not Live for Xaotik's Speed. What you'd care to see and what should be included as an option in a RACE simulator are two totally different things.

Hey guys; I love drifting but I always seem to end up with sets that are meant for wheels like the G27. My old (hailing from 2003) Logitech Wingman MOMO Force has 270 degrees of rotation; does anyone have a solid recommendation for someone with such a limited turn range?

If you live somewhere that gets bad ping to an LFS server, you are going to ruin the race by connecting to it. I see nothing wrong with cargame.nl trying to make their servers better for the MAJORITY of people who can connect to it just fine; you can't please everyone. If lag crashes are a problem for their servers, there's not too much else they can do. I see plenty of Latin and South American servers, whether they be Brazilian, or Argentinian, etc.

Claiming racism is despicable and I think that if it were my decision, I'd have banned you just for making such a goofy accusation to begin with. Who knows; I understand that there are not quite as many servers to play on, but if you can manage to find time to hop on during peak hours (i.e. 7-8pm GMT, 2-3PM EST), you can find PLENTY of full servers to race on. Even ones with S2 content.

EDIT: Man, this sounds harsh. I dunno, but the whole "racism" thing just really got under my skin.

You don't need to expand the amount of slots on the server.

You need to increase the amount of cars that can be on track. Right now it's set to 8. So even if 26 people connected, only 8 can drift.
