I think the Corvette and Mustang(when it comes out) should be a multi-class series. Much more like real life than the joke that radical/DP races are. Multi-class racing needs cars of different speeds not two almost evenly matched cars.
Man Jimmie slipping to 4th in the standings, good to see! I hate that Juan Pablo is having so much bad luck this year, now that he's pretty much out of the points race though maybe he can start going for broke and get a win on an oval.
New Nationwide car looks much better than the Cup car. The Mustangs and Challengers look especially good, can't wait for that Daytona race. I'm not a huge Junior fan but it would be awesome if he won in the #3 car.
Took the Falcon out for a couple laps, felt incredible. I'm probably going to take a season off of oval racing after my pro series disappointment and race the V8 series over the summer.
It only works coming out of the pit since everyone's cars are ghosts in the pit stalls. If you leave at the same time and are inside each other, then you can stay like that as long as you want until you separate and then your cars go back to normal. In order to do it over and over you'd have to pit every time.
My only guess would be that people were doing this at Daytona/Talladega after pit stops to get some kind of advantage. I'm not sure where else you'd be able to stay on top of each other for that long.
Great finish yesterday, I thought Harvick was waiting too long to make his move coming to the line but he really timed it perfectly, good win for him. I can't believe he hasn't won since Daytona 3 years ago. I'm also getting a kick out of watching this Gordon-Johnson rivalry brew, I want to see Gordon lay the bumper to Johnson at Richmond.
A little over a month until Pocono and Michigan, going to both races this year and I can't wait. Haven't been to Michigan before but it should be a good one to see in person.
I do understand that, but here's my problem. How come the car and track guys pump out new content every release, but we get hardly anything physics-wise? They were working on a new transmission model LAST build, but it wasn't ready, OK. Now apparently for this build they didn't work on it at all because that dude was working on split times instead(iRacing did say its the same guy). Seriously? Split times? What modern racing game doesn't have freaking split times by now? Its just frustrating seeing build notes full of camera updates every build, like that's supposed to make us happy. How about some upgrades to the actual physics of the game.
DP vs Radical is not multi-class racing to me. Aren't they almost the exact same speed at most tracks? When they get something lower horsepower out like the Mustang, and put that up against a HP-monster like the C6R, maybe I'd get more excited about it. Two distinct classes, racing for their own championships, that's multi-class racing.
And the V8 Supercar is cool, I actually can't wait to try it out, but that has nothing to do with the fact that they made little to no changes to the rest of the schedule. The fact that the Impala B and truck schedule have their 3 flat tracks 3 consecutive weeks was pointed out LAST season and they did nothing about it. The least they could do was re-arrange them for us. But again, nothing.
I hate complaining, but seriously, absolutely no changes to the oval schedule and 1-2 changes on most of the road ones? That's the best you could do iRacing? It honestly seems to me like they forgot and just said "oh well we'll just give them the exact same schedule again". LFS leagues came up with better schedules from season to season with a smaller amount of tracks to choose from than iRacing has, its a joke if you ask me.
I really feel for Montoya this year, he's had solid runs but seems to have something go wrong at the end of every race. The way things have been going for him, I don't see him recovering enough to make the Chase. Still have a long way to go, but he really needs to turn his luck around.
Why do you hate Hamlin? While he did only beat Johnson on tire strategy yesterday, I still see Hamlin as one of the few guys who has a chance to beat him in the Chase if everything went his way.
Yeah, I was just watching Nascar Live and they were interviewing Martin before practice, he said he would definitely be driving in 2012 and beyond so don't even bother asking him about retirement.
Wonder what this means for Harvick if Kahne does go to SHR, isn't his contract up at the end of this year? A lot of people thought he'd be the third car over there, and I don't see them expanding to 4 cars.
I have a feeling since all the Hendrick guys have contracts through 2011, Kahne will end up as the 3rd car for Stewart-Haas. I think him and Tony are buddies anyway because of their dirt racing background. They both have sprint car teams that run with the World of Outlaws.
