Finally retired my old Logitech UltraX keyboard and replaced it with a WASD V2 with Cherry MX Brown switches (with O-ring mod). Very pleased with it so far, though it's a very different feel compared to a standard rubber dome keyboard.
Finished my new build a little while ago. It's my daily 'work horse' machine, so it's not the prettiest thing on earth. I thought about going with a closed loop water cooling kit, but decided to stick with air cooling as I'm super sensitive to noise.
I tested the DX8 vs. DX9 version on my old PC rig the other day:
As you can see, I experienced a pretty drastic decrease in performance using the DX9 patch. However, I finished building my new rig today and decided to test it out as well. Here are the results:
In this case it was the exact opposite. A pretty handy increase now with the new system.
You might also want to wait and see if Mantle offers any significant increase in performance in the supported titles. As far as I know it was supposed to have been released for Battlefield 4 in the beginning of January, but due to all the issues with the game, it has been pushed back a while, most likely till February.
Well, by the looks of it most of the things in the boxes are pretty old. I'd probably just get rid of it. Maybe keep some SATA cables or other cables that might come in handy.
