Hey So I LOVE Live For Speed,its even better than other sim racing games I've played,I've been playing it for 11 months non stop and I just cant stop playing,its the best.

Although,I was wondering whether we could get a day and night cycle,or is it already in development?
because I heard that the new test patch D58 has pop up headlights for the xrg so are the developers trying to tell us that we might have day and night cycle in the future??

It would be neat to see pop up headlights, it would improve illumination on the XRG and also affect a few car mods. They could also affect the drag coefficient, and are pretty cool.
Maybe after the night update?

I'd be happy with one change. Pop up headlights that work. Don't care that there's no nighttime, its like having a car thats a transformer.

and if it's already popped up, it basically states that this is a test patch forum blah blah.. well surely you guys know the rest

since my last suggestion about having an acceptance list for an improvement suggestion thread, we should have something similar to the test patch section, so that when you press "create new thread" it will pop up requesting what you want to make a suggestion about, and it will use the search feature, and if it finds something, then you can view the list, but if its not exactly what you want (or it finds nothing) then you can make the thread

this would also be a win-win situation, so not only will titles will have to be much more informative than (zomg this wuld be amazazing in hte LFS!), and we wont get 1,000 repeats of the same thing


for you lazy people, here it is in short
1. press "new thread" in this subforum
2. box comes up asking what your idea is, in short (ex: working headlights)
3. LFSForum searches if anything in this subforum has your "idea," and you can search through the posts to see if any are similar, and if not (or no threads are found), it will let you create the thread


the only downsides i see to this is people exploiting this system, and searching for random crap, and then making a thread of something totally unrelated

but nonetheless, it might help, and surely it will over the longrun

all we need is something like an XRT with in-body headlights rather than the pop up "sport" headlights, a rollbar, a larger turbo, no rear seats, a small basic body kit, and a larger spoiler which creates downforce

actually.. i was talking to roadhog about this whole thing, we DEFINETLY should have 3d headlights by S3, it really doesnt take as much FPS as you may think it would, as of right now, you can make outsanding looking headlights and brake lights with plenty of polys to spare if you used as many polys as there are on probably 1 wheel (obvoiusly with 4 wheels, you could make it look pretty real)

all it takes is a box with 4 tri's intersecting in the center, move that center vertex inwards, put a ball (which can consist of 5 polys if you wanted) and then 4 tris or more to make up the glass, and then a texture
that would be nice.. and wouldnt take up to many resources either
but right now.. i mean some cars are okay without 3d headlights/brakelights, but cars like the XR's .. dunno, something about them that just doesnt look right compared to the others
then headlights wise.. we need pop up lights
