There will be an sign up fee.
Ofcourse it will cost money. Rockclan needs to dampen the costs a little bit. Because hiring a building for a week isnt the cheapist thing God has created!

Yes there will be costs.
And we are not sure how much exactly.
Since the party is 1 week long, it will not be so cheap as you might hope.

Because hiring a building for a week costs very much.
Also letting the network be build costs money.
Hiring a server costs money.
And MANY more costs that there are.

But keep in mind we are non-profit.
Since we just want to give you something super cool, but don't want to lose our own money

Call me pessimistic, but I think it'll never be as good as you might hope.

You dont need a LFS server, setting up a dedi-host is easy and it's not as if LFS uses all processor cores anyway.

Although the point of your post is correct, the other costs will mount up unless you know someone with enough spare space in their house to get it hosted for free. I'd offer mine but it's in the wrong country, and I dont think my other half would appreciate 20 geeks trying to squeeze into her flat.

Well we dont need a house or a flat. We need something more like a local convention center or whatever the name is. Because my BF1 Sim is like soooo huuuge!

I'd have thought that if you're going to hire anywhere, it's going to be expensive, and with the number of people you're likely to attract to an event like this, the cost per person would put the majority off. Sim-racers, who can race for free at home, are not all that interested in paying to take part in simulated racing. There really needs to be something offer that's different to attract people, if you are having to charge.

I would recommend finding somebody who can let you have the run of someplace for free, like in the Swedish LAN, where the event took place in an office over the weekend when nobody was working.
