Then it is time for a little tutorial.
Quote from P5YcHoM4N :I never knew AMD made cars.

The Ford Fiesta was (and still is) made by Ford Europe, which is a different division to Ford USA. Meaning it is European, not American.

oh. never knew that the Fiesta was European. Well, the Fiesta looks twice as good today as it did back then. I like it today. Also, i meant AMC, not AMD. my bad. Also, i just found out how to multiquote. weird huh?

Depending on which model you mean - perhaps its for having the worlds most boring driving position or a dash thats even worse than my Proton's?

Quote from GrIp DrIvEr :oops. you also made a usefull comment. thanks dude!

oh yeah. other people who posted USELESS comments, i made this thread because not everyone likes american cars, and I just wanted to see everyone's opinion's on them.

This makes me think you don't actually read the replies to your threads, seeing as it took you a while to figure out that I had actually for once decided not to wind someone up.

Its not that your threads are off topic that gets most people irritated, its that they have been discussed many a time before, however some of the replies in the threads are also rather repetetive and heavy handed.

Quote from thisnameistaken :I knew a girl who had one of those. All the Americans were "Dude she's got a Mustang" but it looked like a Datsun to me. They sent her to collect me once when I'd got stranded somewhere near Philly and I was embarrassed to get into her car.

Indeed, what on earth happened to American fast cars in the 80's? I know there was the whole Oil crisises in the 70s which meant they had to water things down a bit, but it seemed like they took all the fat ugly bits from the old Muscle cars and combined them with Jap box styling. Creating something akin to a cross between an overweight Ford Escort mk3 and a Toyota Corolla.

Quote from thisnameistaken :There's a bunch of ignorant pricks have taken residence here in recent months, and like to shout down anybody who isn't in their shitty little clique. Just ignore them.

I think they have been around a little longer than that, but I can't blame them really, its a nice feeling being smug, and I think the whole 'crapping on threads' thing is an attempt to undermine/ feel supierior to other forum users, its human nature.

Oh christ I've said this all before.

from what I've heard, European Fords are a lot better then the american ones.

I'm a bit interested in the 2009 Fiesta, the Chevy Cobalt SS, and the Corvette ZR1(sort of).

Hers proudly sported "5.0" on the back in boxy chrome characters. It still had a silly American engine, just none of the kitschy comic book American styling.
See the problem with our cars over here is, Toyota is the Japanese Buick, Chevy is getting a little better, Nissan makes some ugly Sentra's and cant seem to fix the weight problem, GM sucks in general, Ford has cartoon teeth grilles now which sucks. The main reason our cars suck so much is because the designers are stupid big is not always good but no one can seem to realize that, you can send a kid into the shop and draw a better car up with a crayon. That's why.... Mazda is doing good though. lol.

Funny thing is an all iron and steel 1978 Jeep CJ weighs maybe about 3400lbs right, Well the 2008 Jeep Rubicon weighs around 5700lbs, How do yoy take an almost all aluminum car and make it weigh more than an all iron and steel one? it just blows me away.

The 2008 Cobalt SS actually ran the fastest time around Nurburgring than any other stock fwd car in its class, which was pretty badass.

Weird. I once drove from NJ to Canada and back in a Sentra and it cost me $10 in gas. I was well impressed!

yeah, 5.0 is a 305. not real big. a ford small block, and chevy had the same for the Camaro RS (my brother's Camaro RS sounded like angel's harps). Still, if you want a good late 80's american car, get a Camaro IROC-Z. They got 5.7, aka 350. People bore and stroke those all the time to a 383 Stroker.

They were terrible cars too. I lived in the states in the early/mid '90s and knew a couple of guys who had those.

My favourite American car is probably the Mk5 Lincoln Continental which I had for a while. What a stupid car! When I bought mine it had birds nesting in it and I should've just left them there, but it looked so ridiculous I had to get it running and drive it around like King Idiot.

I remember I got a old Dutch mechanic guy I knew (who'd done work on my '62 Volvo 122S) to sort out the brakes and when he came to collect it he laughed out loud, he couldn't believe an Englishman would buy such a stupid car. He was leaning against my fence unable to control himself for about five minutes when he saw it.

I loved that car.

Edit: I forgot: I once parked it outside a venue that I often played at, and the co-owner (whose name I forget, I always dealt with the other guy, Scott) came running across saying oh, he didn't know I had one, he'd got one too, weren't they awesome? And he was sincere. What a clown!

Well, the IROC can't really handle. but they look so cool! and they are quite fast.

With exception to the new Camaro I haven't heard of a single one being able to handle =)

Still for an 80's car it wasn't bad.

Yeah. the movie Transformers ruined new american cars for me . So, i am starting to go with the European and Japanese now. My brothers give me crap about it, but whatever. A Japanese car has unlimited possibilities to make it look like you want it. Also, they can get VERY fast. I watched a video on youtube where some guys had a SVT Mustang, and They were racing a Supra. At the end, it turns out the Supra had 1000+ hp in it. Also, the Mercedes Black series cars have better V8 sounds than American cars. Ferrari has a better V8 sound; Alfa's 8C has a better V8 sound than American cars; BMW's V8 in the new M3 has a better V8 sound; and finally, Aston Martin has better sounding V8's than any other American car. So, I want either a classic american, a japanese car, or a european car.
Quote from Mikkel Petersen :Lol. That's why I asked you. Why is it crap?

The old Ford Fiesta looks hideous to me. The new one has so much more style to it, and Top Gear proved it has so much performance for a little car. You know what else, too? I didn't double post!
Dont start spreading sh*t.

Comparing a Euro V8 to an American one is like comparing apples and oranges.

I love the deep growl & burble of an American V8, yet I also love the scream of a Euro V8.

Jesus

EDIT: Old Fiestas are the funking dogs nuts ! The newer model looks plain nasty :/
Oh, and this is what you can do with the wonderful invetion called the EDIT button. USE IT.

Your opinion, can't really see how you can put a very good handling little hatchback in your list of "worst cars". I would've said this no matter what car it was. And the older Fiesta's was very well handling cars as well.

Me neither, what's your point ?
Fords make, generally, very nice handling cars anyway. Most, nearly all, infact, of their cars are either "one of the best", if not "the best" handling car in the class.
Pontiac Aztek
Ford Edsel
Ford Pinto
AMC Pacer
Chrysler 300C
Hummer H3

Not completely true. Your probably just speaking from an elitist, "mommy and daddy will buy me my first car" point of view. You can get fairly new ones in really good condition (some high millage, some low) that have been maintained very well for around 3000USD. Plus they are fairly fast (for the money) and handle semi well (considering the weight). To be honest, I'm thinking about getting one, and I would have my heart set if I could get one in a you-shifter. Now, that being said, I'm talking the Police Interceptor versions. Still though, IMO you cant bash a car if you dont even have a car of your own.
