Crap pc for noobs!111!/1/1!11!!

How much did it cost you, if you don't mind me asking? :hide:

And don't spare anything do ya, grabbed a brand new GTX285, what are they like, £400 on their own?!1?!?1?1?1?!?!? :jawdrop:
mumbletwothousandpoundsmumble....... I should be able to get a few hundred for the old kit on Ebay though. DDR1 and old Athlon X2 CPUs are now collectors items, so they go for quite a bit more than you'd expect.

I found a BFG-branded 285 for £309. It's the 295s that are silly money. Some people are charging over £500 for them...
God DAMN man. You must have more money than sense.

GL selling the stuff on Ebay - It's a minefield of idiots.
9500GT and gtx285?

I'm Guessing the 9500 will be used as a dedi Physix card

Sounds like an ace system but way to much money :P
The 9500 is mainly going to be used as just an output card for the 3rd screen, but if I find it improves things then yeah, I can move the PhysX processing onto there too.
Anyway, have fun with your system. I dont know about you, but I bought my last system and wont be upgrading anymore. I already got fed up with it. I spended more money on my comp than on my girlfriend, I feel kinda stupid

I actually see your point, Buy a good system and dont upgrade it for a long time.

My last upgrade was 3 years ago, so it was due for an overhaul. I'm not one of these people who buys a new card every 3 months.
#10 - need
Other than the memory, it looks pretty good to me.
I'd have thought since you were spending that much money already, paying a little extra for 1800 or 2000MHz memory might have been worthwhile. If only to improve the stable overclocking potential.
There's memory dividers to slow the memory clocks so you don't end up running it faster than it should as you raise the CPU speed.

Just to go up to 1800MHz instead of 1600 is an extra £160 (and my 1600 is nice Cas-8 stuff) and there's no-way I'm paying that much for what would be a pretty much imperceptible increase in performance.
since you have alot of money, would you mind buying me the exact same :P, oh and also it sounds cool

you sure about that? i rather doubt id get much of anything for me old 4400x2 + all the rest
I had a look about two weeks ago. 2GB of Corsair TwinX DDR1 goes for anything up to £100 (I assume simply because DDR1 is so hard to get hold of now), I can maybe get £60 for the CPU, and probably about the same for the X1950XTX. If people want to pay that, then I'm not going to complain
hm maybe i should put them up on ebay uk then

wonder how much my 2-3-2 ddr500 rams would fetch
if your CPU is a socket 939 then it will be bought up in no time at all. i'm using all my old stuff to build my parents a system.
amd 2600+ (32bit single core)
2gb of DDR1 (pc3200)
NV6600GT (silent)

i don't think they'll have much trouble running ms office lol
very beastly system Just make sure you dont look at the prices for the stuff you bought a month or so from now. I bought some ddr 2 1066 ram and it dropped to almost half the price after a couple months, but thats the name of the game.

How are the monitors? any noticable backlight bleed? meh u just ordered it so i guess u woudlnt know yet... or maybe u ordered it a few days ago, i didnt read carefully...
CPU waterblock just turned up! It's very pretty, and a little intimidating...

Thats what happens when you select saturday delivery with DHL /prays i am right
No, this was Royal Mail. I'm impressed.
Nah, I try not to use OcUK, as it tends to be more expensive than everywhere else, plus I just don't really like them from what I've read.

The block that came today was from watercooled-pcs.co.uk
In OCUK's defense, everything I've bought from them has been delivered quickly, and any queries I've had have been answered promptly and informatively. :hide:

same here. i live in northern ireland and they usually had my stuff at my door within 3 working days. i'll get to try their RMA system very soon as i have to return my saitek evo force joystick.
i had issues with their delivery service (citylink or something like that). long story short, OCUK don't use them any more.
