okay then you need to state to everyone that when the caution comes out, that you simply let off safely if you are on a streight and not to let off if a yellow comes out and your ina corner cause that would cause another wrecked slowing down in corners.
or in the case of yesterday tell people when the yellow comes out not to blaitently full foce brake dur in a turn creating a car barrier for people behind to hit lol.
and on another note, none of you orgonisers have replyed to how i got sent to the back of the line after replying to a admin who talked TO me. safety car infact who talked to me...
Really, if realism is what we want, there should be no chat during quali or the race, we should all connect to vent and get orders/chat (about current race stuff) there.
Appology accepted PMD. Please don't bumpdraft in any kind of corners in future.
I just wonder why on Earth there was NOT a SC when I crashed?
Because it was few laps before the end? Now that's just lame, if you were doing, what you were doing, and it was shit tbh, 1 clear lap and then 3 SC then this is million % SC situation too!
People would have enough fuel for extra laps cos they saved loads in those SC periods...
I want at least 20 clear laps to see before the damn caution.
that talk was unnecessary and you got what you've deserved
I'd just put you on back of the grid for being too close to SC, and let's not talk about bumping SC. You ppl have to learn to give room to others. 50 meters room between cars! When you're coming to last corner before restart, then bunch up.
This way, with cars too close, tires warming up is very dangerous.
I had to virtually make some room for myself by slowing down the whole pack behind :|
well i was getting nudged from behind so i got wedged between sc and who ever was behind, ken i think. then the sc talked to me direct so i replyed.. like any human in the world would do if they was talked to especially talked to by an admin
nudged by behind, now that's just stupid by someone. It's not fun to nudge ppl during SC period is irresponsible and dangerous. Car in front or behind can start warming tires up any time and what if you nudge him in that very moment, he'll spin. Stay away for some decent distance, always. Just bunch up last couple of hundred meters before restart.
But this also shows that you were to close to SC
But still Ice, you have no right to talk if talk is banned, just realize it hehe.
I wanted to say million things during the race, specially why is there so many SC's...
I know, he talked to you, but you weren't supposed to talk to him, it was not a discussion, it was an order.
Oh I'm sorry, I thought the ment you were having your period and would have had to leave. Oh, well.
A is not a reply. It does not indicate any sort of agreeing. It's merely spam. Arguably the no-chat rule is confusing since getting admin attention is allowed, but in a nutshell: Don't say anything unless asked.
Second of all, the no-chat rule also applies when you're not actually on track. So please, no more outbursts when there's a race going on for other people. Preferreably never online in any server with anyone, it's rude.
The proper behavior when the Safety Car is deployed is covered in the Safety Car section of the rules. Reading and knowing the rules is required. We don't require you to be able to recite a section at verbatim, but you are expected to know about all procedures.
I reviewed your case in the chat log, and you were asked to back off of the SC. The proper and only needed response is to back off the SC. There is nothing else. The car pushing you from behind would be deemed at fault for any incidents, assuming you just gently slowed down to increase the gap. The "" was not needed. The penalty is therefore correct.
Ken make sure to read this post I'm sure it applies to you. This I know from past experience. I thought you said you wouldn't be doing this under caution anymore?
Despite the large amount of yellows this time, I think there's quite a few good positive things to come out of the race:
Behaviour under SC wasn't too bad on the whole. Ken needs to stop running right on the back of Joe/Nolan/Phil or whoever's rear end. :P Other things:
Under SC, make sure you run at a constant speed, and if deko asks you to slow down/speed up or whatever, do it gradually, not full throttle/full brakes. And on SC restarts, please don't go above SC speed (~50mph) at all, even if you're a bit behind the car in front. In you speeding up, you have to slow down again, meaning there's a massive pile up behind you as everyone has to slow down again.
In between the cautions I saw some pretty good racing, and if we can get the entire grid to do that then it will be a great race.
Some things to improve:
Patience: Although I can see that getting ahead in a 34 lap race might be slightly more important, there's no need to rush in the proper 134 lap event. There will be plenty of time to make up for mistakes, so don't worry if you drop back a bit and don't go for rash moves - T3 is a nasty place to overtake so consider dropping back and going for a move into T1. And if you're in a pack of 4 cars or so, use your brain, and remember that the cars infront are probably looking to pass the car infront of them rather than looking where you are overtaking them, so patience and brains are needed.
Awareness: On the whole, I saw no issues at all with side-to-side awareness, the vast majority seemed to leave each other ample room to pass, and this wasn't a problem. IMO though, the major issue was front/back awareness. Make sure you check your mirrors and make sure that you are behind the car your are following before getting back into the draft. Also remember that the XR has a really long bonnet so you are probably closer to the car infront than you think.
My final point is definitely one for those less experienced on the oval. I think half the problem was in fact not that you are 'oval n00bs', but that your car is controlling you. If you d/l the replay and watch some laps from (for example) O'Keefe/Scott/Shaw/Diaz/Dakovic, you'll see that they are completely at one with their machine - they can almost tell exactly what the car is going to do before its even done it, they are driving the car, the car isn't driving them. If you get the chance before the next session, do a little tweaking with the set to see if it makes it slightly better for you, just something as simple as adjusting the ARB can help. Drop by the server and someone might be there who can help you
Hope to see you (and Joe Ellis slightly less) at the next practice event
