If you are using LFS + VLFSDash.
And running LFS fullscreen..
When you click a button on VLFSDash, LFS will instantly resize to a Framed window.
Wich typicaly is Windows behaviour..
So the answer is indeed no, Touchscreen as secondary monitor is not advisable..
Ofcourse this is not the case when you are using VLFSDash on a second PC as primary monitor..
Unless you're good at soldering and don't want to use your dvd player again, you can't. I cut the cable that joins the player to the screen and through trial and error figoured out which wire was which and soldered them to rca sockets in a little project box. It will also need an external 12v power supply.
Hi All,
Has anybody got LFS Dashboard and LFS Relax to work at the same time. Both use Outgauge but in LFS Relax's cfg you can disable Outgauge. If anyone has can they post how they configured both programs.
The Quartz.ttf font is not properly installed in the C:\WINDOWS\FONTS folder.
Or the font is not properly registered.
Tip: Uninstal VLFSDash, check if quartz.ttf exists in the C:\WINDOWS\FONTS folder.
If so, manualy remove it..
Then restart pc, and re-install vlfsdash again.
Hi
No Runtime was needed, I only copied all needed files in the install folder not in system32 folder.
Only 1 file was needed to place in the system32 directory: MSSTDFMT.DLL
All other files where VB runtime files.
They where not needed, so I did not include them anymore in the installer package.
I am writing a little app that receives LFS OutGauge data on UDP port xxxx, and re-sends the data back on a other self configurable ports/ip's.
So you can use LFS with other programs that need outgauge at the same time
Hi,
Thankyou, any ideas of a time scale as would luv to add this to my SimCockpit but also need LFSRelax running.
Also I am struggling with the remove borders function, everytime I remove the border VDash moves to top left corner of my monitor, also it doesn't save its last position when you re-open it which would be nice.
The Gauges are perfect in size so perhaps when you maximise it it could just fill the area around the VDash with the grey background colour which is user definable anyway, that would mean it could be used on any size monitor.
I have some ideas to put time information on again a seperate screen(monitor).
This will only be intresting if you make a serious race sim with multiple monitors..
About the screen size en Border remove button.
VLFSDash has realy been designed to be used on a seperate monitor dedicated for vlfsdash.
When pressing the Remove Borders button, the form will be borderless and maximizes at the same time.
This to fill the screen.
With no maximizing, only the Form title bar will dissapear and the botton of the app will not be visible.
This button is of no use when using this app on a monitor wich contains several other applications..
Maybe in future this will be different.
But if you use VLFSdash on a seperate dedicated monitor or dont use the Remove border button.. all works fine.
Hi Erazotropa,
Yes so the VDash's gauges etc stay the same size just when maximised the grey (user definable colour) fills the rest of the screen around the gauges. This means we can use a whatever size moniter and then use the same monitor for other things rather than having to buy an 8" Monitor specifically for VDash.
Well, you don't need to use a 8" monitor to get a optimum picture.
VLFSDash is designed for use with a resolution of 800x600 pixels.
So if you use VLFSDash on a secondary monitor, configure the monitor resolution to 800x600 and you have a perfect filled screen
The way i mentioned a 8" monitor, is that a Mini monitor 8" or 10" have best view on 800x600.
Resolutions higher than 800x600 on a mini monitor will give a compressed/distorted view.
Hi Erazotropa,
Would be easier for users if VDash just filled area around Gauges with grey background as this would also solve your problem with widescreen monitors which I have currently running at 1440 x 828 screen res. Changing screen res to and from 800 x 600 causes other programs to fall over, I want to use my 2nd monitor while racing but also Alt+Tab out of VDash or minimise to access TeamSpeak or Remote Viewer among other things when pitted and at 800 x 600 on a large wide screen monitor they are unreadable.
Just my ideas no worries if it can't be implemented.
Hi All,
I have got LFSRelax and VDash working together now using Erazotropa's Port Forwarding Utility, thanks. Does the Port Forwarding utility let me add a normal IP of a mate and pass the info to his VDash if I wanted as this would be great in Endurance Racing so my team mate can see whats happening with car even if not allowed on Server to spec.
Some sugestions besides the maximise sugestions I have put forward...
1) Can VDash display the number of LAPS left in fuel tank. Like LFSRelax does, after completing your outlap, then a full Lap it calculates fuel used then tells you how many LAPS of fuel you have. Then let the user decide when the low fuel warning light shows in setup by number of Laps, Litres or Percentage left in tank.
2) Can we have an audiable bleep configurable in setup for max revs as we teach a lot of Rookies and it helps teaching with gear changes.
Fantastic programing Erazotropa its going to be the biz.
