Quote from Paranoid Android :How do you get that beautiful light effect? Were you just lucky with the light that day or was it in post processing?

That's just how the light is out here in New Mexico. I'm thankful for it every day.
A few more, 'cause why not.

It is, I'm pretty lucky to live here.

I do reviews for digitalcamera-hq.com. You can find them here:

Finally got my M42 screwmount to K-Mount adapter in the mail, and since I've got a horrible flu and little else to do I spent the early afternoon messing around with the Helios-44 58mm f/2 on my K20D.

It's an incredibly sharp little lens, and a great deal at $23 shipped from the UK.

Almost all at f/4.0 and either ISO 100 or 400:

...and a few B&W conversions for fun:

I flew my helicopter in the back garden, my bro tested the new lens:

Funny, I was about to get that same lense for my D40 and that same T-rex! Got me a 18-200mm though, and a Blade 400 3D from E-Flite. (see attachment.)
How's the T-rex fly. Is it your first RC heli?

(No, my heli isn't powered by 4 AA Varta batteries... just needed to balance the thing while the battery pack was charging!)

Cool! I looked at the 18-200mm too, but decided to sacrifice convenience for price. T-Rex is my first outdoor heli yeah. Basically I thought they were too expensive and hard to fly, but after buying a good simulator (Reflex XTR, invaluable for learning), I took the plunge, and not regretted it one bit

Not had the balls to fly upside down yet, I think I'll be trying soon though
Price over convenience? I reckon you already got the kit lens, the 18-55mm to go with it. Then yeah, it's cheaper. I bought the D40 body with the 18-200mm and I love it. Not sure what's cheaper though, mine or your 2 lenses together.

I use Aerofly Professional Deluxe. I've tried Reflex XTR and it wasn't as good as. Reflex felt more like a game to me. But then again, these sims all about getting a hang of the controls no matter what direction the chopper is facing.
If you wanna fly it upside down, don't try it! Do it over and over and over in the sim, with as minimal movement as possible until you can do it with your eyes closed. 10 times.

Then I think it's safe to do it with your Rex.

Yeah I have a wide lens already

I have tried Aerofly, Realflight, Reflex and Phoenix. I fly aerofly also, just prefer the graphics/clarity of Reflex. Realflight was too hard/unstable, Phoenix probably the best (but my cable broke), and Reflex a nice balence and I can still see the heli when I fly far away. But yeah like you say it doesn't matter it its not 100% realistic, its just getting a feel of how you need to move the sticks.

Also yeah I can do tick-tocks, inverted a few inches off the ground and piro-flips on the sim, I think I'll try inverted in RL once I can fly inverted fast forward flight and circuits in all orientations on the sim.

Then one day, maybe fly like this:

That's some insane control that guy has, but that video doesn't cut it for me. It looks like he's smashing it about, checking how long it takes before his battery slips out.
If I enjoy 3D acrobatics, it's when the figures are really clear and not all at once. Like this one (also from Alan Szabo): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v ... eature=related&fmt=18

Anyway, we've gone off-topic far too long now, time for some more photos!

Once again I've been suffering from chronic life syndrome and whatnot so inspiration has been rotting under 6 feet of dirt. However I got some nice shots out of the following pre-production dress rehersal earlier tonight.

Pretty much straight from the camera but I like it.
Nice and sharp, good bokeh. WB is off, but it works. Nice.
Quote from DeadWolfBones :Nice and sharp, good bokeh. WB is off, but it works. Nice.

Gels and WB were intentionally off by a large margin to give a disjointed look for the otherwise boring space. Muchos thanx for the feedback nevertheless Mr. Bones.

Finally got some spare time to setup the camera. I bought a tripod lately (handy thing :P)6

@Spangler CZE: Beautiful car!
