Hey everyone, first of thanks for a great community and game! i'm truely enjoying myself every minut of LFS! and im gettin my a G25 tommorow which is totally exciting for me been driving with my mouse so far. And thats kinda hard

Anyway to my question. I've been trying to google and search the forums countless of times during the last few days. to find what i was looking for.

Basicly what i would like to arhive was to get the XRT to look like an MR2 or an S13 or Supra. And all i could find was normal skins that doesent really change the curves of the car in anyway simple just change the texture on the original model which isent enough to make it look different ? or is it? I'm kinda confused about all this models / moods / skins etc.

Especially since after i seen countless of posts about skins like S13 and so on when i use them it just doesent look like an S13.

Am i missing something? i've also seen that theres some headlights and what not skins? but i dont know how to install them? and isent there like a pack i can get? So its like all in one all fitted.


Hope someone wanna spendt a little time helping me out here.

And to all intents and purposes, unless you are quite a skilled coder, not possible.

oh sorry i didnt know that but if u read my post, you will thats not really my question is merely can i in a legal way of course get my xrt to look like an MR2 or S13 or Supra or Ae86 or anything else? cause the the skin under \data\skins isent really enough ? or havent i just found the right skins yet? i've triede the XRT_Alan_mcCord_S15 which doesent really look like an S15 same goes for XRT_MinesS13 no disrespect to the authors ofc. they look great i just dont see a big difference when u see it except ofc. cool colors and nice logos and so on

As above, you cant change the actual shape of the cars as that is VOB editing, big no no which will get you banned.

You can give an XRG/XRT the headlight look, but they will only be skin textures that look like headlights. This is only really possible with the XR cars though because they dont have any headlights as such, they are folded away, leaving the space on the front of the car to do this.

I made a mk3 ford capri fronted XRT for example.

I have also seen a very well done ford sierra fronted XRT somewhere, plus there is a headlight texture pack somewhere on here that you can use.

All you need to do is just put the textures in the middle of the front of the car s skin and then save it and try it to see how it comes out in game.

If its too high/low or not in the middle, just keep going until you get it how you want. i usually have XRT_default loaded into paint and another paint open with the headlight texture in, so i can paste the lights in, paste the whole skin into photoshop and save it, and if its not right, go back to the default, edit> undo, and try again.

The capri took me ages as i did it from a real photo and nothing was to the right scale at all, so loads of resizing to get it to fit right, but im sure anyone can do it as i am far from good with graphical stuff and i managed it!

You need to edit the .vob files for XRT to end "curves" and what not. Unless you are a real computer nerd, you can't crack those codes. It's illegal to even post on this forum about them let alone use them. I guess its ok to use them, but if you for any reason release a download for it, your thread will get deleted.

Yeah skins only modify the "paintjob". There is already some car mods out there. I'm not sure if they're illegal, but at least in this forum a discussion and especially releasing them is.

I meant to mention that you should be ok if you do not release it, although i believe it is still frowned upon.
