Just got a g25 today. For some reason in LFS it wont recognize first gear. If i go into game controllers, all seven gears work, but once i'm in LFS it just wont recognize first gear. Help please?

Does it recognise the other gears?

Or even more obvious, are you pressing the clutch before engaging 1st gear? I know LFS wont change gear if you dont properly press the clutch.

Yes, it does recognize the other six gears, and i am using the clutch properly.

Well, check the mapping of the gears in your control settings. Otherwise... I'm pretty sure the wheel is still under warranty.

I checked everything under the control settings. When i click first gear and push first gear on the stick it doesn't set it. The reason i think its not the wheel though, is that when i put it in first in the game controllers menu, it recognizes first gear.

Does any other gear engage when you shift in it in game?
You aren't trying to use H-mode in SS or GTRs, are you? (These cars have Sequential gearbox thus H-gate doesn't work)

No, its not because i'm in a GTR car. It was literally just working again this morning and when i was playing 5 minutes ago for half an hour. Then it mysteriously stopped recognizing first gear in LFS, yet it still works in the game controllers menu. Anyone know whats causing this?

Ok, this might help. When i push forward on first gear while in this text box this is what happens:

Amount of 0's depends on how long i hold it for. None of the other gears submit a character of any kind..what is going on here?

I sounds like you have the first gear bound to 0 with an external program. Check all of your configuration settings in your logitech profiler. Global and custom settings per game. I think there you will find your answer.

Ok, it is no longer binded to 0. Buuuut, it still doesn't work. It shows up as working in the game controllers menu, but not in LFS. :doh:

Are you using the latest driver from the Logitech site or the driver on the CD?

I downloaded the latest profiler from the wingman site (v5.02) and its still not working.

*edit* i changed my controls to sequential, than back to shifter and its working now..lets see how long it lasts *edit*

The logitech site has version 5.04 available
