I think i remember this movie but sadly not the title.

It's "The final countdown".

The plot involves the USS Nimitz going thru a portal and appear just before the japanese hit pearl harbour.

and F14s whooping the asses of waves of Zeros.

Are you sure it wasn't The Philidelphia Experiment? Same era..same basic plotline, but the main difference being that I never heard of a film called Final Countdown! (Though that was a crap song by Europe!)
