Whats the best way to reduce tank slappin after coming out of a drift. i would like to keep a high steering lock as i dont like to turn my wheel 15 zillion times to just get round a bend.
What else can i adjust to reduce this.
Damn pain to pull a nice drift and then to throw it all away by the car flicking the other way so quick.

Tankslapping is usually caused either by using too much throttle when exiting the slide or unwinding the steering lock too slowly. If you attach a replay so people can see exactly what you're doing it will be easier to diagnose the problem for you.

i'd say, dont try to contra steer if you're certain that it will tank slap, just take abit off the throttle and some more front tyre pressure, and camber. should do the trick.
wait what car ? firstly
second i dissarge with to much throttle u never ever back off the throttle to stop a tank slap u simply unwind the steering get the car straight when exiting a drift

PS i drive with full lock and 6spd manual g25 to drift

Do you use more throttle at the apex or on the corner exit when drifting? Almost everything I've experienced and seen tells me you should use less throttle at corner exit. If you keep the same amount of throttle at the corner exit as you do at the apex you tend to over-rotate the car which can cause tank slapping.

using to much throttle isnt what causes tank slapping like MAD3.0LT said its how you unwind the steering, do it to slow or hold the steering then it will do it

also most of the time i use less throttle mid corner then i do at the exit
Thats the thing here.... in real life i use to have a 323i bmw, with this i use to flick the rear end out and then just keep full revs and control it with steering. but with lfs it's a new ball game to me and not like my old car lol.
But now i have a few hours spare i will try some of the above posts and let ya know what happend....
Cheers peeps for the help, come down to how i'm steering out of the drift.
Now flicking car more and less opposite lock and at the exit of the drift i try now and keep the wheels straight.
More PSI in front did help so many thanks.

it would take a really long time to explain it throughly so ill post a replay when i got some time to load into lfs

ps i drive my real life car *that has a mini spool* alot like i drive the XRT in lfs :P the only thing with lfs is the car reacts to slow due to the tyre physic's
ok i got the Replay

now keep in mind i havent driven lfs for 9 months or soo
