You can play S2, you just don't get access to the S2-specific cars and tracks.
Yes you can play with the latest physics etc with S1 content. Basically demo gives you access to 3 cars 4 track combos, S1 gives you more and S2 gives you more on top of that. All users get the same physics updates etc

Ah thanks for the replys guys.

So i can basically play it but in theory it will be just the demo version?

Is LFS 1 still as good as i remember? and is there anything i should specifically download for it?

Sorry but i havent played it for so long and rearly want to get back in to it.

Thanks again

But just so you know, the s1 servers are not very popular, most people usually stays in demo or s2 servers

Edit: to play download the latest version of lfs, them as you used to do unlock lfs, in our case will be s1, so you only be able to access s1 servers or demo. I highly recomend you to buy s2, only costs an extra £ 12, them is only happyness
Just download the full version and unlock - see for yourself how great it became in just a year

After you install and unlock it, you'll have an updated version of S1 which will give you access to all the cars/tracks that you had before.

Ok i have clicked unlock, put my username and password in (which was my original for LFS 1) but says password does not match.

You sure this will work with LFS 2?
Try going to lfs site and change ur game pass, or maybe you forgot it? Anyways its 100% sure that you can unlock the lfs s2 as a s1 player, just got remember the pass

Make sure you're entering the correct password. There's one for the forum, lfsworld.net etc and another one which you use to unlock the game (minimum 8 characters).

LFS currently has 3 levels of license:
Demo (Free/unlicensed) - 3 cars plus Blackwood track configurations.
S1 (£12) - All the cars and tracks originally in S1, but using the S2 engine
S2 (£24 or S1+£12) - All the cars and tracks in originally in S1 + all new S2 content.

You've paid your 12 quid and should be able to use all the S1 content currently present in LFS S2 at no extra cost.
However, upgrading to the full S2 will only cost you another 12quid, and at that price it really is a no-brainer. What are you waiting for !

Edit: Bah, too late
Also ATM, there are 3 S1 servers, and they are all empty. so S2 would be your best bet.
picotto, LFS 1 and LFS 2 sound like they are two different games. This is not the case, they are called LFS S1 and S2. S stands for stage. Currently it is LFS Stage 2 Alpha, version 0.5U. The difference between S1 and S2 is now in content.
