Ping numbers - How does one deal with this?
Has anyone any good ideas as to how to deal with drop outs when setting up a simple Head to Head race. I and my fellow racer are suffering drop outs 50 percent of the time. Is the answer to go onto a higher grade host and not do a simple two racer connection?

Hi,

You probably entered server with bad connection.Try to connect to better servers or some of you just host(if has enough upload bandwitch) for your mate.
Is it also depending on several other factors. Are you all from same country? Somebody might have good pings but bad connection(loosing packets).
some wireless setups drop about 50% of their packets. Try upgrading your wireless router bios thing, or going ethernet if possible.
sorry Becky but I haven't got a router bios thingamejig. Just a common or garden bog standard internet broadband connection.
Do you know to what extent I have "control" over what connection I can choose to go onto the internet.
It's a BTbroadband standard 2.2 set up.

well then you do have a router!
Ping problems
Pardon my ignorance. Are you saying that in my BT VOYAGER USB ADSL Modem box there is a router? How does one "tweak" it so that PING problems are a thing of the past please??

Ooooh.
My friend had similar problem but he was using USB cable modem.I heard there is a lot of problems with USB modems.Might be the reason but I am not saying that it must be definately.
Do you have chance to borrow a ethernet ADSL modem for few hours from some of your friends?
