Someone on Xfire claims he has Dirt2 for the PC. He says it's buyable in the UK... But he won't give pics so I don't believe it..

Someone has asked me what format I want this for (looks like I may have won a competition). Now it's never going to run on my aging PC, so should I take the PS3 or 360 version?

I guess it would depend on which console you use more?.

I have more games for the 360, so I tend to use it more. But I want to make sure I get the best possible one if there's any platform differences (like I'd have taken GTA4 on PS3 if I'd had it back then).

And maybe since I've got more 360 games I should pick it up for PS3 to balance things out

The differences in the game would be minor I'd imagine, there are some comparisons around ATM (gametrailers I think) of NFS:Shift, and the differences are tough to spot.

TBH, if you can use a G25 on your PS3, then that might swing to decision in the favour of the PS3.

G25 works only on 180 degrees for me on the PS3 (just in Dirt2).

Another thing you can't do with the 360 version compared to the PS3 is taking screenshots (if you fancy such things) from in-game.

Biggest question is if you want to play online with friends from your xbox friend list? Other than that, online works great with the PS3 version. I have yet to experience lag.

It would be a no brainer for me, I have miles more "friends" on XBL than I do on the PSN, and the PS3 controller gives me nasty hand cramp.

About sharing the pictures. You can simply save them to a usb stick and upload them anywhere. Right?

And regarding online play. It's always great fun with a friend, but Dirt2 really is fun, regardless of the people you are playing with. Strangers or friends, it's simply a great laugh (seeing other people crash, drive like maniacs, total carnage, etc). It's better if you are in chat with a friend and can laugh together, but it doesn't matter that much to be honest.

I think it's going to have to be the 360 version due to having more friends and a much better pad. Although I'm pretty sure most of my friends don't really know me and only added me to get my Trials HD levels

Turns out I'm getting shoes that won't fit me and a t-shirt as well. Awesome

Well I won all the X-Games events, when you do you unlock The Colin McRae Challenge, it's a rally event using his Escort. So for those people who feared a Ken/Travis takeover I don't think you need to worry, this game is bursting with tributes to Colin.

EDIT: Holy crapness, you get to race some pretty cool people in this event, I will put the names in white so people who don't want to know can ignore this...

When you win The Colin McRae Challenge you get an achievement called "For Colin" worth 75gp, and a short tribute video to Colin is played. Then it shows a quote from Colin "If in doubt...flat out!" and a Scottish flag with 1968-2007 below it.

Tis a brillaint game. I am close to doing X-games asia.

I raced in that Mcrae challenge. I thought the Escort mkII was going to be a slow old school rally car, but I was wrong! I think it is the fastest rally car, and the hardest to control, as it is RWD. If you take a corner too fast, you need to counter steer it to get it back on track. Spoiler below...

The 1995 Impreza is unlocked after you complete the challenge. That is another fast rally car. Seems like the older rally cars are faster than the new ones!

Win the Colin McRae challenge and all the world tours, and you shall be rewarded with cool cars (which are in fact some of the fastest in the game, yes)!
