Seriously, does Plato know any other way to pass other than shoving them out of the way? fs

No. Simple as. It's why the ****er has only won one championship, he's constantly up the top because of his dirty driving, but has no skill whatsoever. Well okay, he's fast, but he can't pass (or not hit everyone) for toffee. I simply cannot see how he gets away with these things, whereas others can't. (See Adam at the first round. Plato brakes early, Adam pretty much has nowhere to go and makes a mistake. Plato gets rammed, and loses a place. This round, one corner on Chilton brakes early and Plato purposefully 'twats him up the arse'. He loses a multitude of places as a result. Would Adam have got away with it if he'd done it on purpose? Or is is because he's not Plato?)

And Tim Harvey, I do like you but stop constantly defending Plato you little shit! That applies to other commentators as well, plus Autosport.

Having said that, Plato has been better this year. Also I don't know if there will be a penalty for Plato yet, but I doubt it tbh.

EDIT: Ha ha! Perfect, I've been supporting Harvey all year and was really glad that he was on top, then started not liking him this round and he loses the title! Well done Bridgeman.
PLato is flying at eh moment up to 2nd on lap 9 Turkington 1st Gio 3rd. But Plato is much quicker half a second a lap.

Edit:
Lap10: Hes leading and Chilton bumped the other two to 3rd and 4th, this is monumental, although I doubt Turkington will finish low down enough, 6th?

11: pulled 1.5 sec clear Colin 2nd.

Turkington takes it by 5 points to Plato Apparently 275--270. Gio a further 4 behind.
YES YES YES Turkington!

A very much deserving champion, a great driver. Understandibly emotional
Nice result,
Grats to Turkington.

Grats to the wrecker for winning all three races.

Grats to the whiner for...
I thought it was all over when his car got damaged, so pleased he managed to keep it going. It's all a little bit emotional really, a clean driver has actually won the BTCC title!
best friekin 7 hours ever great 3 races my heart sank when turkington got hit really wanted him win and he did mint races
I reckon what I said a couple of months back still stands true.

Quote from Mp3 Astra :

Turkington probably could have been champion before now, if he had been more aggressive like the field around me. But if he wins it this year, nobody can possibly criticise him for the style in which he does it.

Before now, one could say that he actually hasn't been aggressive enough. That was nearly shown to be right in Race 3. But luckily he realised he had to start using his elbows. In a cruel twist of fate, his aggression nearly cost him the championship! That car was a crab for the last 10 laps. It's amazing he was able to drive properly.

I'm so happy for Colin. He's waited 8 years for this, and is one of the most deserving champions in the history of the BTCC. Fantastic. Let's hope the BTCC can find something magic next year before all the big names and cars migrate to other series...
Thought I'd stick some cool shots from today up for anyone whos interested Didn't stay for Race 3, wanted to beat the inevitable traffic!

1: Plato passes Chilton in race #2... finally!
2: Random Formula Renault, nice panning shot. Framing could do better, but it's hard when they're that fast!
3: Ginetta gets nudged coming out of Druids(?)
4: Broken Clio Cup car

I personally think Turkington will be snapped up by BMW for WTCC next year, he's got what it takes to win the world title, which is a clean smooth driving style, the 2 Airwaves guys could learn a thing or two from him.

Ahh maybe a little exaggerated, I mean it would be great and all to have him driving a works car, but I reckon he'd be a bit down the pecking order in terms of drivers choice. For instance, D'Aste or Hernandez or whoever is that other front running privateer in the BMW, knows the tracks in the WTCC, and that would give them an advantage over Colin in that aspect, but it will be interesting to see what happens with him
I'd managed to avoid finding out who won until just now when I got an email from facebook saying "The group you're a member of, Colin Turkington Touring Car Star has just changed its name to Colin Turkington Touring Car Champion"

So pleased for him, sounds like they were some interesting races so I'll wait for it to appear on ITVPlayer.
Fantastic, sublime, dramatic, just totally awesome finale!!!! Best one for a long time!!!!!

Hats off to Colin, totally calm, overcame almost impossible odds, and that push served Matt Neal alright!!

The way the race unfold is race 3 was unreal, touring car racing at its best, sad we won't see Gio and Vauxhall again next season. At least this is a keeper.
Wow, the atmosphere at brands hatch was amazing.. I Have been to all the btcc's since 2000 at brands hatch.. and i have never seen anything like that.

The Cheering when Plato got into first.

What a day. Best Btcc Race I Have seen.

Mat jackson Told me personally at Rockingham, he might go to Wtcc next year, But He doesnt know yet, If he cant get into wtcc.. Hes hopefully going to stay at chevy with plato.

Plato for the 2010 Championship.

Hes getting closer every year.
Anyone know of anywhere online I can see the races? ITVPlayer are still showing the Rockingham Highlights...
Cracking racing, very pleased for Turkington. Well deserved victory and all done so cleanly. And the one time he does have to use his elbows, it couldn't have been anyone more deserving than Matt Neal

To be fair if James Thompson couldn't make it in WTCC then I doubt Matt Jackson would. If Chevy keep performing the way they have this season then I definately think Plato will win in 2010.

Yes, but Thompson has a Lada WTCC programme
Quote from pacesetter :Yes, but Thompson has a Lada WTCC programme

Has he?! I thought his WTCC stuff fell through, that's good news then because he definately deserves it.
Jaap Van Lagen also drives for Lada

The car is definetly improving too, he got some points in Italy, and the rounds before, The Lada with (I think!) Ladygin behind the wheel was running in the top 10, except Larini shunted him in the last corner, of the last lap.
Yeh Thomo put in two stirling drives for Lada at Imola, getting them their first ever WTCC points, in both races!

Starting tonight, fans can watch all the drama of yesterday’s three title-deciding races again on the ITV network this week.

Its terrestrial ITV1 channel will show all three races in a 90-minute highlights show from 00.20am.

Those highlights will be repeated on ITV4 at 3.30pm tomorrow (Tues) and again at 3.30pm on Saturday (10 Oct).

Damn.. bit early..

Damn, in that first shot I think I was just a few feet to the left or right on the viewing bank with my bro, gf and nephew

Was the second time I'd been to a race meet, was amazing to be so close to the action

And the clio race made me laugh with all the cars coming off at Surtees bend

And like I said on the RS2000-16v forum, the Formula Renaults make the same noise as my farts when they went over the rumble strips on the outside of Surtees :P Kept making my girlfriend and me laugh when it was happening
