IMHO Shift wins (especially with real mod)
When I say "wins" I don't mean best overall simulator but it seems to convey the experience of driving the Nurburgring in a Zonda better than any game.
can't really compare the video's as one doesnt have sound, and there not really shot similar :o

From watching only these videos and having never played any of the above games for myself, I agree.

Shift definitely does the "visual immersion factor" better than the others. By A LOT. Sounds better too.
Jesus. Is that really rFactor?

Anyways. The guy in F3 video cant drive for shit.....

But in terms of "immersion", Shift takes the cookie. However, that is only judging from the videos posted, if a good driver without any assists took that Pagani round "The Ring" on its limits in F3, it may well look alot better.

You kidding me It looks like Wipeout, it's too freakin fast..
The rFactor one made my eyes bleed, FM3's driver was terrible and the handling in shift looked funky. Out of those I'd go with the RL one, but Shift is next in line..

Regarding graphics, Shift is the best hands down. For many immersion seems to be good, but not for me. If I constantly spot unrealistic behaviour, immersion gets spoilt for me, no matter how good sound or the camera shaking is.
I have driven Zonda in shift and it feels like driving on glue. Don't know if real mod makes it decent. But anyway I didn't expect any NFS to be a sim. It's really ok as it’s aimed at a larger group of games than just sim racers.

Some rant just observing the video about shift.
At 0:40 where we can see the car having right wheels on grass and left wheels on tarmac and the driver going full throttle... the car doesn't show the slightest yaw change... Or at 2:27 when powering out of the corner, driver puts his outside wheels over the grass after riding hard the exit curb which is enough to unsettle the car on it's own... let alone the slippery grass. Still the car gets away without the slightest direction change.
Ok 5:31 is just ridiculous... no need to explain.

Yes I know. ESP is on. But even this doesn't do miracles like these.
This lap is full on mistakes in lines-braking and putting down the power. And still this is 20seconds faster than what an experienced racing driver does in real life.
An experienced simracer after some practice could do this in mid 6mis.

The rfacror video doesn't show any better car behaviour (but this depends on mods realy), also Forza 3 doesn't look promising with that awkward direction changes.
And btw, why does the Karussell in FM3 looks like it's made of wood

I thought the real life one had the best graphics.
I've played SHIFT, and the sound and visuals are just fantastic. The first thing that grabbed me was the sound, Works Corvette.. Mmmm
Shift may look better, but by god it plays really, really nasty, infact, I'd say the physics are bordering on worse than Prostreet.

They're not as bad as... *shudders* Pro Street.

My GOD, the understeer!!! :scared:

I think shift has better graphics than real life.

The Xbox 360 console isn't capable of showing any shades of grey without RRODing.

real vs rfactor similar cams. That makes it a better base for comparison! Excuse the low framerate and sound that beats the laptime by about 5 seconds.. :S

No tricks or syncing though, just started the video and replay at the same time and then captured the screen at a crappy framerate! I also tried to use Ati control center to change the saturation of rFactor but that didn't seem to work.
That's looks impressive

Omg couldnt stand watching more than 5 seconds of that, the driver in rfactor isnt moving his arms, words couldnt describe how completely awful that looks!
Umm the idea is to compare the Real nurburgring with a real car to a simulation of that car and track. Sure there is no hand movement in rFactor, nor do you see those hands when you're actually racing. Its just a 'dummy' so you see a driver in the car..

I dunno, I think its pretty impressive that sometimes the sim is exactly at the same place, revs, speed as the video, for example the first 1.5 minute and the section after Hohe Acht until Schwalbenschwanz.
