Post Rock
Sorry for another music thread, but this deserves a new one. I discovered post rock a few months ago, it is by no means new and is simply instrumental rock.

Such bands include God is an Astronaut, Mogwai, and Sigor Rós. I just wanted to share it with you all, its simply a beautiful genre.

Here is some from of the simply amazing Irish band; God is an Astronaut:-
All is Violent, All is Bright
From dust and beyond
Remembrance Day

Icelandic Sigur Rós:-
Olsen Olsen
Svefn-g-englar

From New Zealand, Jakob:-
Oran Mor

Scottish Mogwai:-
Take me somewhere nice

From Austin, Texas...Explosions in the Sky:-
Your hand in mine

If you have anymore, please share
You're welcome

Mogwai - Auto Rock

This one was my introduction to post-rock. I can't say many other songs of this genre have interested me much, but I really like this one.

EDIT: Ah, I see the OP already mentioned Mogwai, but not this particular song.

I have two albums from Explosions in the sky but it's the first time I have heard of the term Post Rock.

I actually just bought the album base on the cover art alone (the earth is not a cold dead place), and I really loved it, it feels a lot like the instrumentals from The Music, and to my surprise they are from Texas!

One of my greatest musical find in this year.
Love post rock!!!

Juno - We slept in rented rooms
Modest Mouse - Bukowski
Evil home stereo, what good songs do you know? :expressio
Grizzly Bear - Foreground <3
Built To Spill - Nowhere Lullaby
A Weather - Spiders, Snakes <3333

Try to look for Duyster compilation cd's.
BEST cd's ever made imo.
Not all pure post rock, some indie / folk stuff. Some 100% instrumental, some with vocals.
But who cares about labels/genres Just check em out, im sure you'll love it

tracklists:

I still got some rapidshare links for them, although im not sure if i can post them here.

EDIT: damn Godspeed You! Black Emperor is awesome indeed
Somehow I miss Tortoise ...damn I love this band
Quote from DeadWolfBones :Most of these (except maybe Juno) are just indie rock--don't really fit the "post-rock" genre.

As i said before, who cares about genres
What matters is the gloomy / lo-fi atmosphere in the songs.

Some of the bands i mentioned have mostly more rockish songs, but i thought the ones i posted would fit this thread.

And indie is a very broad genre, afaik post-rock is even a subgenre of indie.

Oh well, most bands dont even know themselves what genre theyre part of.

Argh stop using the word indie! Indie is a way of doing business, not a style of music, arghhh. Sorry, that just really gets on my nerves.
Quote from Fastwalker :As i said before, who cares about genres

Well, this is a thread about a specific genre.

It's not meant that for years.

I bought a Godspeed You Black Emperor album (Lift your Skinny Fists) on the strength of the first song, which I still like- but I actually felt the album as a whole was a bit of a letdown.

I'm pretty bored with most rock, post or otherwise, these days. There are still good bands around, but nothing has really leapt out at me for years.
Been a fan of Mogwai / Sigur ros for several years and its the first time I hear about the post-rock label.

Reading together the words rock and sigur ros just doesnt feels right...
