LFS - Stereoscopic 3D Ready
- How is this possible?

well you need Nvidia Video card to launch the 3D application, and the rendering program does his job.

- where?

in the nvidia control panel (start menu -> control panel -> hardware and sound) on "Set up stereoscopic 3D". If you do not have that option update your Nvidia drivers frim here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

-tweaking

if you drive with the inside camera, the depth of the 3D image needs to be "1".
example: http://www.lfsforum.net/attach ... mp;stc=1&d=1259214221
but if you drive with outside camera view, the depth needs to be "5"

- you need

Nvidia ( Galaxy, Palit.. ) video card (runs great on GTS 250)
Stereoscopic Glasses - http://farm4.static.flickr.com ... 3386152940_4e83cd3705.jpg or http://chrisray.soterial.com/3dglasses/package1.jpg etc..
you can buy them from here http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Overview.html
or here http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R4 ... d=m38&_nkw=3D+Glasses

outside view (like the front of the car is out of your screen).

FPS with 3D Render

with Galaxy GTS 250 - 256bit - 512mb the fps drops from 100 to 60 so you need a stable card. More info here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3 ... iscover_requirements.html

- tip

you need to take a 1~ hour brake after 2~ hours of 3D racing because your eyes are going to hurt a little bit

Great! Where do we buy the special glasses!
gonna try that soon, its info to share on the LFS manual as well.
Dont u need a 120Hz disply for it to? Or does it work with every display..
IIRC, the 3d glasses have a similar effect as using a monitor with half the hz. (half of the images go to one eye and half to the other).

So in theory, in a 60hz monitor you are having 30hz on each eye. That is a really low number and can give you a nice headache.

I am very sensible to monitor refreshing speed. In 60hz monitors i can´t play more than an hour. Now i have a 75hz monitor and things are better, but as soon as i can i will change it for a 120-200hz monitor.

So if you want to use 3d i reccomend having a monitor with a good refreshing speed to avoid your eyes hurting.
Dont they give em away at movie theaters with this new 3D movie craze?

I think most theaters expect you to return the glasses after the movie by dumping them in a big bin Of course no one's gonna notice if you just slide them in your pocket.

You got headache because you were listening to (c)rap while trying 3D.

Those are polarized glasses. With those glasses, half of the Hz is going to either eye.

This trick works the same way as Speed Challenge: Jacques Villeneuve's Racing Vision did it back in 2002. It uses red and green effects to mimic depth, but at the same time render the normal image to show you colour. It works, and it gives you a good sense of depth, but the colours of the rendered images are way off.

NVidia's 3D Vision works with polarized glasses, so there's no colourloss. You'll need a monitor that supports it though.
