I am wondering if it would be easy to do a smoke grenade..... but my plans are not very... how can i say it... '' goodie-two-shoes '' ?

I used to use thunderflashes Faaaaaar more effective. Smoke just gets blown about and unless you're using something military spec you have to throw so many to get any kind of effect.

Lots of things are easy to make, like napalm. It's all down to whether you want to loose the self defence line in court, as bomb making is mutually exclusive with that...

A trick we used to do to show off just how much they go boom is to put a helmet on the ground under a tree and throw a Thunderflash underneath - when it went off, it would usually throw the helmet up into the tree with enough force to bring down a branch an inch thick.

A tennis ball stuffed full with match-heads makes a good smoke bomb - you need a fuse these days as all matches are safety-matches, but if you can get non-safety matches, it'll go off just by throwing it at something.

pyrotechnics aren't scary. They serve a purpose.

It's what you do with them that determines whether they're scary, and if I was going to be scary i'd much rather be using something more mundane. Like a box of iron filings, a powerdrill, a can of petrol and things like that which can be put to more imaginative uses. It's imagination that terrifies people.

Ping pong ball
Sheet of silver foil
Lighter/Matches

Place ball in the middle of the foil and wrap it around the ball without tearing it. You need to leave a foil tail to act as a handle (should look like a giant silvery sperm) take outside and light the foil nthen throw it and watch smoke ensue. can make this with say 4-5 pingpong balls inside a bigger sheet of foil for more smoke.

Simplest form. I won't go into the nitrate burning smoke bombs that *ahem* i have never made. experiment, it's fun!

Thermite is a nice easy one to do - powdered rust mixed with powdered aluminium from a drinks can - make a little pile of the powder and stick a magnesium fuse in the top and you're good to go. It'll melt through steel like it was butter.
