i can't get it working.

i open up the virtual outgauge then run lfs but nothing is moving

i'm a complete noob sorry

BUMP: David, do you know when the 1024x768 will be ready?

Having released the source, I'm afraid not too soon.

I released the full source code for anyone who wanted to continue to develop it because I don't really have the time now to do much on the PC

If I do get time I can tidy it up and finish off the 1024x768 version, Unless someone can do it before me... I can't really say an ETA because as I say I really have like 6 hours a week on a PC now, But hopefully I can finish it off for you

so after that

i just found lfs two days ago

i loved it

first i downlod the game from here

and i install it on my windows 7 English Ver

the game runs fine

the i downloaded the vlfs and install it

it didnt work

i download the exe and ini only

i put it in my dekstop

and i add an exeption from windows firewall for the exe

then i copy the text from that txt that i found on the other topic

i rund the game

press ant tab

open the vlsf

put the corect port

close it - reopen it and i press conect to lsf

nothing happend

i tried and with 4000 but still nothing

why?

is there any setting on the game?

vLFSdash didn't work for me either (I have 'Live for G15' which works the same way & it runs fine). Disabled all other LFS extras, disabled firewall, tried various ports, nothing.

When pressing 'Connect to LFS' nothing was sent/received (had other software monitor vLFSdash). Re-enabled 'Live for G15' (which still worked fine), but no vLFSdash comms.

herctrap: did you edit cfg.txt in your LFS dir?

from vLFSdash help:

change the below

OutGauge Mode 1
OutGauge Delay 1
OutGauge IP 127.0.0.1
OutGauge Port 4000 (port # application is run on, ports 100-65000, default=4000)
OutGauge ID 0

i dont remember it

i add the five lines for vlfs

and still nothing happend

then i copied all the lines from this vlfs

odd, that's where LFS stores a lot of the info set in the options, like screen resolution, HUD colours, language, if replays are to be saved, etc.

My cfg.txt is about 3.3Kb & it should be located in C:\LFS\cfg.txt or whatever location yours is in.

The cfg has one line until you run the game for the first time. If it doesn't fill upp maybe you should try to run the game as administrator or install it in another folder

yes the win 7 didnt allow to the game to write on the tct

i install it in a diferent path and now it fills with more tha one line

but still it dosent work

Yes! finally a new version of VLFSD but when you gonna release the version for 1024x768 so my junked monitor in the hole of mouse house. will be more useful on my game

I had to load my LFS directory change the cfg.txt values to:

OutGauge mode to 1
OutGauge Delay to 1
OutGauge Port to 127.0.0.1 (Local PC, if network use the pc's local ip address)
Outgauge Port to UDP PORT (what you set on VLFS in setup)
Outgauge ID to 0.

Then save it. Make sure you have a back up of the origional.

Then load the dash, then LFS and play. If it doesn't work send me a PM

Having some trouble using the installer (freezing on extract at like 30 percent-ish), could someone try and extract it for me then zip it up?

The EXE + INI doesn't work because there's some dependencies missing. Thanks!

VLFSD is working OK for me, nice peace of SW.
I`m using 2 PC's, so in my cfg.txt Outgauge section I have

OutGauge Mode 2 (default is 0, 2 is for race & replays)
OutGauge Delay 5 (default)
OutGauge IP 192.168.1.101 (IP of PC running VLFSD)
OutGauge Port 30000 (put what ever you won`t but match it in VLFSD setup section in UDP port field!)
OutGauge ID 0 (default)

In the closed topic for VLFSD I`v found the solution for using Picture Frame as second monitor, and after a big help from fellow racer Jadran http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1325138#post1325138, I`ve managed to get it going.
One thing about this solution you need to consider:
REFRESH RATE on PIC FRAME is SLOW !
So, changes in ledbar, rpm, and speedo are not accurate.
Most of GAUGE SWs that I`ve found are made for normal screen resolution, and PIC Frames are 800x400 at the best, so another thing to consider (I can see only half of VLFSD .
If you can, use real monitor or if money isn`t an issue bye TOUCH SCREEN SCREEN

i've had no problems setting up my LFSDash just wanted to know if the Engine Temp could show CT (Clutch Temp) ?

i have it set up nicely on my pda

Edit: I hope Scaven has see this projekt and Intigrade it, its a must have for every Sim lover.

im also having the same problem, my installer halts at about 39% every time, tryed diff mirrors etc and still no progress.

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated
