It really makes me wonder why some of these manufacturers don't continue their racing programs. Surely they could benefit from continuing them.

Toyota was on the rise and thought F1 is the more global platform.....they were right, they just didn't expect their campaign to be absolute shit.

It's not about absolute dollar amounts, but the marketing value per dollar. For a successful team, F1 has more marketing value per dollar than Le Mans. Unfortunately for Toyota, they weren't successful in F1.
