Well, I gather 3 things from that exchange:
1) Good on you for actually doing the proper thing. You ended it before getting involved with that other broad. Lesser men wouldn't have done the same.

2) Good on you for being properly honest. I know, speaking for myself, I would have beat around the bush and tried to save face for myself. But you said it decently straight. Especially because being honest with a woman is a total trap, because they won't appreciate the fact you're being honest and not lying... but if you lie and they find out.. you get chewed for lying. it's a lose/lose there

3) We all suck at saying things. Personally, I am poor at expressing my feelings too. Some girls are cows about it and rub your poor ways of wording things in your face. Some find it cute (depending on subject matter) and chalk it up to a person being nervous around.
You'll get better at it over time.. I know now I can say what I feel a lot easier and better than 2 years ago.. when it'd have been a mixture of "I dunno" and "hm.. *cry cry tear tear*.


Yeah, it's a shitty situation to like someone else too, and I'd side with you that you can't control your feelings. I still love like mad my Ex, and it's been 8 months of us apart (slowly getting closer though *wiggles fingers*). that's part of the reason I've stayed out of any relationships since losing my Ex (the one I'm trying to get back)... because it's no use being in a relationship where your heart is elsewhere... as mine would be.
