MOMO black off-center after sharp turns
In the middle of a race or a hot lap after a sharp turn, often I find my wheel is off-center. It's really annoying.

I have the latest Wingman drivers. I used to have all of the for strengths set to 100% and center spring to 25%.

I now changed to 50% overall...0...0....check 0. and 50 in game but the problem still exists.

Now without any centering force it just doesn't feel as fun as before. I can barely feel the force feedback.

I heard of a center fix utility but isn't that just for wheels that are always off center not just on sudden turns.

I really love this wheel except for this problem.

try recalibrating the wheel..
Ok, flip it over.Take all screws out, be gentle and remove POT WIRE CLIP.

Your problem is POT doesn't fit Pedal shaft right,
Easy fix.
Remove pot from shaft, cover same hole with dime size elec.tape...cut small X and shove the DAM POT Home.

If you need more help [email protected]
and i'll send yah some screenies.

" I drive MOMO Black with 50.000 +"
Or you can just try throwing it against the wall?
If I were him, I wouldnt send you an e-mail anymore now.

No mate, I think his problem is with the wheel, not the pedals. There is a Momo centering fix on the Logitech Wingman site which may help you. Also make sure you grab the latest profiler software while you are there.

same here, got no fix for it though

Same here, albeit with a MS wheel. LFS is the only game that does this to me. Everything else from NFS to GTL is perfectly fine illepall
I already started some sort of same topic at hardware section
Same here, the wheel is momo force and it happens with all games. Off centering happens to happen after a strong ffb effect, i.e. after a crash or really, really fast countersteer. Steering the wheel from max left to max right calibrates it again, but you may imagine that it's not always possible in the middle of a race.

that's the EXACT same problem as i have!

And download the zip.

Make sure your wheel is calibrated good, and then start the program and click "Enable".

I tried this but whenever I "Enable" my wheel goes crazy in live for speed. It won't calibrate in game.

Wait...I tried disconnecting USB then "Enable" Momo center fix and then calibrate.
I'll let you know if this helps.

Heh, that's exactly same my MOMO Racing does. Everytime I restart computer I have to unplug wheel to get it working properly. Wheel worked fine for a month or so when I bought a new computer, but then same thing appeared again. Don't need center fix anymore though.
Well the center fix doesn't work for me. Now that I use 0% centering it's not as serious a problem. But whenever I make a very violent turn it goes off center and I have to race with a tilted wheel.

What's so hard about making a wheel that knows when it's not centered?

Anyway, unless my MOMO is defective, I would NOT recommend the MOMO black to anyone.

This is a very annoying problem.
Do you jerk your wheel around really quickly?

I have a momo black and it has worked perfectly for me since I got it (pedals too) but I turn the wheel as if I were driving an actual car and never try to jam my pedals through the floor.

I have heard all the complaints and I am convinced you guys all have problems with your equipment because you BEAT IT UP!
I don't know if this helps you with your problem because I can't figure whether your symptoms fit to mine, but anyway:

When driving with my Logitech MOMO red I realized that in some cases it appeared to be more sensitive in LFS and after sharp turns it was biased to one side. The centering seemed to be jerked.

It took a while until I found out what happened: When starting LFS (or even Windows, but it doesn't make a difference because I use it only for LFS) the maximum turn angles for maximum output were less than the mechanically possible turn angles. This means that the wheel was not calibrated properly and recalibration of an axis took place once the axis was moved beyond the maximum output turn angle. Then the center point also moved and the wheel appeared to be tilted.

Workaround: Either in the profiler or in the Options-->Controls window in LFS (where you can see the axis outputs) move ALL axises to full angle once, thus calibrating the wheel. This fixed my problem.

I can't say if this helps with the problems mentioned here, especially because most of you speak of the MOMO black, but who knows?
Good call actually. If the calibration isn't fixed and you move the wheel quickly, the pot could spike beyond the original calibration range and mess it up. Using fixed calibration in LFS could cure it.

I had the same problem with my new momo. But I fixed that problem. I opened the wheel and cleaned the optical sensor with alcohol. I could actually see that there was some crap on the surface. Some people told me not to clean optical sensor with alcohol but it worked for me.

btw, i think ive fixed it, try plugging it DIRECTLY into the PC, fixed most of my probs!

You, sir, should get a job in customer support. You seem to have a natural aptitude for it.
DX Tweak may be of use to you (from the Wingman website) it lets you adjust the centre and highest/lowest input values of all axies.
I get this sort of problem with my joystick. I find that after i take a late / sharp turn at T1 on blackwood, all down the straight it wants to play on the grass.

My solution was that everytime LFS runs it required me to move all my axis about to get the centres central (something calibration in options) if i started the race, slightly turn to get to T1 then a sharp right it isnt calibrated right.

Try starting every race with a full turn left then full turn right, followed by full gas then brake. Got mine going a treat.
Only cleaning the optical sensor (the small wheel) does the trick in my case.
nice bump
