So, I'm new to online racing, and was hoping to get recommendations for which tracks (S1) and which cars (S1 again) to practice on for joining good races online. I'll go ahead and join in some BL XFG races, even though those often have demo racers in them. But I very much like the LX6 and the MRT and the FMB, so which tracks should I practice with these so that when I have competitive hotlop times I can join races where people drive cleanly?

You should either just hop in on any public server and start driving there, as the tracks are not tendetianally hard to learn. Most S2 Servers are moderated anyway, so with some luck, you may even find some clean racing on a pickup server.

On the other hand, however, there is the legaue section of this forum. You can have a look through there, and see if there is a league open for beginners to join, and then you can prepare for these races, hotlapping on the combo given.

So, if you want to stay away from demo racers, just stay away from them, and try out other combos, and most of all: Just have fun! Really, that's the best thing you can do out there. And while driving, you'll get better, and also get to know the cars and tracks.

Good tracks for overall skill are Fernbay Black in lx4/lx6 and South city......and infact Bl is great for overall car skills. mix and match the more you drive the easier learning new tracks will become.
