I am playing LFS for a while and I've noticed that when the tire is hot it makes smoke only from the part where it touches the ground.


I am recommending to LFS Developers to make the tire smoke from all its surface.

The whole tyre doesn't smoke, it's the airflow that pushes the smoke to wheel arches.

Anyways, suggested already.

Maybe because it's more realistic than before?

But how does that screenshot prove it? Sure, there is more smoke, but I don't see it being pushed around the tire. Or am I wrong?

It's visible it you look inside the wheel arch.

That shot doesn't show it well. But Scawen did mention this quite some time ago - around the time those shots were posted. There was no mention of airflow; just that any part of the tire that is hot enough will emit smoke - which will probably give the effect the OP is looking for.

He didn't asked for the smoke to be pushed into the wheelarch. And what he asked for is already done in Scawen's version.

I don't know how right I am, but I see it as the smoke being pushed back from the tire, and forth from the wind.

Well one was a thumbnail and his "fix" was linking to the full size image.
Still a bit of a fix imo.

Only game I'v seen get the tire smoke right as far as the tire heating up is GTA 4, just didn't have enough smoke.

iirc all that is new in the new tire smoke is that the smoke gets emitted from the whole tire not just the part that is touching the ground. Which looks tiny bit better but it´s still 2D. I think it will look a bit like smoke mode (which is good IMO) but still not realistic.
