the shaft seems to have about a 1,2-1,3 cm gap in it. i know NitroNitrous (his username on this forum) did this without an adapter but you might need to play around depending on what kind of knob you have:

Hm, you're profesionally using a joystick to shift now, do you also have the problem that when you drive in LFS with FFShifter and you press a key on your keyboard, for example T to chat, your gear is 0?

Btw: nice german ruler :V

it really depends on what knob you get. i can't tell you any specifics as the only thing I ever did was use tape to hold it in place. did the job, but there are better ways :P you could contact NitroNitrous and ask him about specifics about what he did

so, did you figure out the shipping and total cost? I am ready to ship any day

I did use auto-clutch. I changed a few of the keys that ffshifter emulates.

1 - U
2 - I
3 - O
4 - X
5 - C
R - B

I have also attached my entire FFshifter folder with my force fields

Thanks alot, so if you dont use autoclutch, it also goes to 0 if you chat? :o

Gawd, youre layouts make my joystick flop around, lol, you really should try mine, as it runs smooth. Why did you enable auto center anyways?

anotheredit: just tested, if i chat, it still goes to gear zero, even with ur keys and autoclutch on. the heck?

i can't really try it right now, but I don't remember that happening to me... maybe your setup or something :P

wow really? i don't remember it being that much (I was sent a small package from a friend in germany for like $15-20 US). let me go to my post office and ask them what the cheapest would be. I will let you know

Is it possible for you to find the original handle as i want to use the buttons on the joystick and do not want to pay for a gear knob as i am on a quite tight budget and i also need to buy some pedals for the clutch

sorry mate but I bought that joystick just like that, I took the shifter knob from my old dfp but I have to sell that so I removed it...

Hmm well found a REAL cheap joystick on amazon (£15 including p&p) so if you can do it any cheaper than that ill go for it.

I didn't want to reply to this post because I thought it would make it seem like I tell you lies or try to convince you to buy from me instead of others

as far as I know, ffshifter does not support gameport versions of joysticks at all, whether in a gameport or with an adapter. i think there is this software called JJshifter that does but don't quote me on that

As far as i know th Attack 3 does not have force feedback therefore you can't use it as a six speed shifter. You could use Virtual H Shifter but the joystick doesnt stay in gear
