Ever become so much quicker at a track suddenly?
I was racing on a server (GTRs, Westhill) and I was amazed at how quick I was. I was using the XRR with the Race_S set with R2s, and I got a 1:33.34 which is like 1.5-1.7 seconds faster than my PB . I then drove offline and got a 1:32.79 and then got a 1:31.92 with the FZR. I did these times all with the Race_S set. It feels really good to be quick suddenly. Did that ever happen to you?

At Blackwood/GTi I cut my PB from a 1:35:3x to 1:34:3x... in one day.

It's always about bloody blackwood with you demo people, isn't it?
The one day I did 1.27 with XRT on BW, then after a week brake, I raced 10 mins and got a PB at 1.24.60...

That kind of scared me

I guess for quick learning racers it's normal to get into the WR range within a couple of hours. Specially as most WRs are not really fast (just looks at some of the reversed tracks).
It's funny, though, that you usually beat your pb in big steps. I just had this last week
Fe club GTI - I had my pb at 50.79 iirc, and wasnt really able to drive faster, not even by cutting the last turn massively. All of a sudden, I got a clean 50.60, which is quite close to the wr
Seems like "milestones" can only be overcome with a huge step

Awesome.
I find sometimes ill race and be either a little bit faster and slower than pb, sometimes alot slower, but other times suddenly go alot faster. Usually when i suddenyl go alot faster i have to spend some time trying to equal it.
I just think its something everyone does.
I have not done too much hotlapping on LFS (yet), but when I was working on my GPL Rank back in the day, I noticed this. I'd work on various car/track combos then come back to have a go at beating my pbs and almost certainly knock a few tenths or more off times I didn't previously think I could beat.
It's probably because of the low fuel I use these days, but my old pb for aston National with FZR was something like high 42s and I really couldn't do better, it was even slipstreamed... Now suddenly since a few days I run mid 42s regular, and my best time is down to mid 41s without slipstreaming...
it happens to me also when i'm in a good shape i can get quite fast in few laps on new combos...some days ago, i didn't find any decent combo, so for desperation i tried the bf1 at fe green, after few laps someone was quering the server for my stats and then said "it's not possible for anyone to do 50s after 5 laps!!!" same thing at an occ rallyx server: i was winning most of the races and when i left i realised that my setup had even a ballast!!! i was about to open a thread like this one... i think it's the matured experience even if we never raced a particular combo, the experience of how other cars need to be setup for certain kind of corners, how take into consideration if a track is twisty or onto etc. put this together in a day when you are in a good shape and it's done! you are gonna surprise yourself and make "pat, pat" on your shoulder...
Funnily enough, my times start to fall when I'm NOT trying to go faster...

On aston club with fox, i couldnt get below 1.2:20 for about 3 days, and just went on one time and went right into the 1s, totally randomly, didnt even seem like a fast lap driving it... its weird
^^ When I drove my new PB, I was thinking I screwed it up...

It does seem fast laps always seem to be the slowest. To me anyway.
