Thanks to
Cooler Master Netherlands, for sponsoring this event!
So after a though 250km race we have the winners officially!
We decided to drop the practise points, and only have qualification and race points. To keep it more equal.
After a server crash at the actual start (thanks Gaming Solutions :schwitz
, we had to get to the backup server hosted by -TRR- Hosting.
The race lasted 1:06:17.06, and it was a brilliant one. After good draft battles between Ori Atana, Antti Terho and Walter Lemmens during the first 16 laps, chaos stroke as Terho nudged the nose of Lemmens and both flew away after a lag-spot.
Terho had quite big damage, but Lemmens even rolled it and luckily landed back on his wheels, with huge damage. He made a pitstop the same lap. Terho had such suspension damage that he actually could go way quicker through the last corner, this caused him to set an unofficial fastest lap time. After a while he got called in for a mandatory fix pitstop. Sadly he made a drive-through penalty when doing so, and lost lots of time.
The race went further underway and it seemed that Terho didn't follow the rules of taking the penalty within 3 laps after getting it. This caused him to be disqualified at the end of the race.
Later we saw a lapped fight between Provost and Lemmens, as Provost crashed and pitted for repairs, Lemmens could pass him and moved up to 7th. After a long while of pushing from Lemmens, Arslan spun and crashed and also had to pit. Now Lemmens moved to 6th.
Now we see a lot of overtaking, but sadly only for lapped people. A short period later, we see Terho crashing, and having to pit. (He at this point did not knew he would be DQ'ed yet.) But then finding out he first had to serve his drive-through penalty, making another lap, and then finally fixing the car. This caused Lemmens to move up to 5th, and into the awards area.
Meanwhile Gooderham is in 4th, Heinonen is in 3rd, Pllu is in 2nd, and Atana is in 1st. With Atana still having to make his pitstop, we reach the last few laps of the race. Then finally Atana makes his pitstop, but Pllu was still on a lap, but did manage to get back in the lead lap.
Atana then pushed as hard as he possibly could, and managed to stay ahead, and take home victory in the CM Storm 250!
Here are the official results:
1st Ori Atana #00 - 1:06:17.06
2nd Anthony Pllu #69 - +0:35.23
3rd Timo Heinonen #75 - +1 Lap
4th John Gooderham #74 - +1 Lap
5th Walter Lemmens #07 - +2 Laps
6th Jonathon Provost #97 - +3 Laps
7th Oscar Arslan #87 - +3 Laps
- Antti Terho #83 - DQ
Congrats to the award winners!
