ps3 controller. break = lock up
I'm using my ps3 controller, it detects and works fine but its the sensitivity i'm having an issue with.

When i break the wheels just lock up and i go in a straight line and when i say break i mean tap the L2 button.

How do i re-configure the throttle and break L2 + R2 buttons in the game so it's a little less sensitive and i can try and do a competitive lap

cheers.

Try putting Throttle / Brake Centre Reduction to 0.00, this should give you more travel in the Axis.
The shoulder buttons are not axes, you really should use the thumb sticks for steering and brake/throttle.
I use a playstation 3 pad also, the only settings i changed was the analogue steer smooth to 0.80 and the wheel turn compensation to 0.70 and with the right setup im alble to get high 12s.

il upload the setup i use so you can see if that will help you alongside the changes mentioned above

also you may need to calibrate your pad in lfs options then i think controls and then the last on the far right

On DualShock 2/3 controllers the shoulder buttons provide analogue input. Can't they be configured as axes in LFS?
Yes mine are set as axis(the triggers are actually called Z axis),are you using motionjoy to connect the ps3 pad to your pc, if not go to www.motionjoy.com and download and follow the instructions,
also in lfs options controls make sure you set the thyrottle/brake axes to combined (it is possible to get each one working seperatly which il help you with by changing some settings in motionjoy).. once you have set it to combined click the Axes/FF tab and click the Thr/Brk combined text and then click the axis which you see move when you press your triggers(for me its the RY Axis and now the triggers are set as axis.

sorry for my instructions not being very clear, and if i can be of any more help then id be glad to and if needed il take screenshots to help

Ah, mine is the older Sixaxis controller on Vista, so not using motionjoy and I don't think it even has analogue shoulder buttons.
I got sick of it and bought a 360 controller for windows. Hopefully it'll work better
in my own experience id say the xbox controller is more a problem with the dead zone but you can overcome that problem with software,if you downloaded motionjoy software then its fairly simple to set up for a ps3 pad the rest is just tweaking the options.
if you have a problem with the deadzone setting for the xbox pad then download xpaddder and you can alter it with that.

have fun and happy racing

I'll download xpadder later and give it a try
