Need help with XRG (Replay included)
I had been trying to improve alot and i just did some 1:33's on XFG, i just decided that today i wanted to start driving the XRG, boy, it's already giving me headches...

I keep the grip as much as i can as you would with ANY car, as grip equals speed intead of loss, but it's different for this car, so maybe give me a hand?

also, it's a set from Setupgrid.

P.s: sorry if this is asked too much nowadays

Quote from Krieger776 :also, it's a set from Setupgrid.

Did you practice enough to use the setupgrid? If not, please dont use the setupgrid, because its meant for pros and not new guys. If you are new (I assume you are because of your joindate) then use sets for beginners. Heres the link for the thread about a guide made by Stigpt: Guide

I'm not really a newbie, in fact, i had an account called Ryan776 that i began using from January 2012 (Deleted it), so i rolled up this new one to begin with.

so, that said, i really have good times on the XFG (I'm demo after all, duh), so no problem with the tips and all of that
@OP:
You're NOT supposed to have multiple accounts.

@rosewood2:
1'33"s are not really slow. Not necessarily fast but not slow either. I would say the OP is good enough for SetupGrid.

Ok.

Alright Keling, but he still needs to practice with the Setupgrid sets because (assuming OP is hotlapping) champs need a lot of practice.

@Krieger776 I wish you good luck on beating the current hotlap times on BL1 & BL2

I don't agree with that, tbh.

There are sets that suit your driving style and sets that don't. Not "pro" or "amateur" sets. Just try some sets out and stick with the one that suits you best. IMO.
But in fact the fastest sets are oversteer. For new players its hard to control them.

Someone who can drive 33s on bl gp can drive oversteer setup.

It says wheel but I think you are driving mouse, right?

You are driving pretty good but maybe you should use more kerbs especially in the first schikane and drive smoother. You need to practice and get a consistent setup.

Well, i'm driving with Logitech G27 (Complete with clutch pedal being used and H-pattern shifter*, i don't know why you think i'm using mouse yet.

And well, thanks everyone for the replies, i still want to hear some more tough, because i really set up the view options to my own, but i think there are other ones that i can try (Specially the Cockpit one) i also improved my driving a bit more with Setupgrid and all of the tips given, so thanks guys.

Keep 'em coming!
Because your reacting looked pretty fast. So you use small degrees of rotations maybe?

Yes, view options makes a difference. I found out that using smaller fov makes me little bit more confident on track and faster. Also changing the g-force camera tilt and movement can give you some better feeling of the car.
Well
Now i had been mixing some sets in one that i got from Setupgrid, so what else i can do to get even faster times?

I need to get provided with stuff in order to get faster times, monsterrocks did a thread but that's only for FF cars, so i need tips for RWD ones, waiting for responses, also replay included.

BL1 with XRG is very epic combo. Its just practice. Some time ago thought low 33 is impossible for me, but days ago i finally did 1:33.25.
Unfortunately WR is getting better too.
Was fun to race you Litro, sorry if i was driving all this crazy and chit, it happenes that alot of demo racers are really bad for overtaking, so i must get the hell out of the way before i get hit, otherwise was fun, dunno if you saved replay when i almost flipped the car.

P.S: Random replays.

Note: I'm [ADVO] Krieger.

If you're still wanting help, I'll give it a go, although I haven't played for a while so am quite rusty

The attached replay is my fastest online lap in a race setup, the lap starting just after the 10 minute mark (excuse the excitement during/after )

Hopefully it'll give you something to compare your driving to, along with the hotlaps on lfsw.. (driving a race set is slightly different to HL set so might make it easier to compare, as well as hopefully illustrating what I say below..)

now from your replay there I'd say:

Last corner before your lap starts, get closer to the right edge of track before the corner/your turn in and probably brake a little less. Also don't get tyres dirty on the exit, only use the kerb unless you're on a fast lap as it wrecks your first turn on the next lap.

Turn 1 you lose time for using the H shifter and clutch as you have to brake earlier, but skipping over that, try to change down to 2nd sort of as you turn in a bit and as early as possible without over revving. If you do this and come off the brakes quicker/don't trail brake, it should give you a little slide (not tyre squealing so much but being on the point of oversteering while still having grip). Otherwise you can use the handbrake to give the same effect.. The little slide gives you a better corner entry, as in your lap you understeer slightly/have to turn in quite hard which loses you speed

You can cut the middle kerb of the chicane too if you like, but that won't affect it much.

For the corner at the end of the straight I would use more of the kerb on the left before entry, and less trail braking to get the same sort of slide as turn 1 entry. For this sort of thing experiment with how quickly you come off the brakes and how much steering you do as you come off the brakes to find the best entry for your driving style

For the last corner I would brake less/carry more speed in, then be slightly later on the accelerator..

Other than that its a decent lap, mainly slower because of braking earlier to allow time for H shifter gear changes

On a side note I like to have a very oversteery set up, and drive it right on the edge of sliding.. Sometimes its the fastest way around the corner, and sometimes its just personal preference - so it might not work for you.. there are other ways of doing it so dont be put off if my way doesnt work for you
