Round 3 official results
Even more cantact racing happened last time, but everything stayed cool,so - no protests,no penalties!

Round 3 official results / Championship standings

On paper this might look like a very boring race,as only 2 drivers have switched positions between qualifying results and race results - but in the race it was all mixed up and just during 41 tough and dusty laps everything settled back in it's own order. Allthough the championship leader S.Jurvansuu prepared himself well and even broke the 58 seconds lap mark in qualifying to take pole position also in 3rd race. Championship 2nd place owner Matiss most of the race chased hard for win,but late in race he made a costly mistake to allow S.Jurvansuu pull in safe distance for last few laps. Also late mistake from C.Kistner was recovered good enough to save his another 3rd position - at the end of race top3 finished in same order as in 1st round and in championship standings.

After round 3 of 5,S.Jurvansuu has increased his lead to 7 points over Matiss and to 17 points over C.Kistner, who is 2nd in Rookie of the Year standings. With 2 rounds to go and 32 points up for grabs, only 7 drivers are mathematically eligible for main championship title, but only leading 3 are realistic candidates for it,as for others the chance requires dominating last 2 races with series leader not even participating.

The FXR Master award leader S.Jurvansuu after winning both rounds has 10 points advantage over Matiss, meaning that he needs just to finish 6th in last round at Kyoto oval to secure title in any conditions. After taking all possible 16 points in 1st from 2 Cross Challenge rounds,S.Jurvansuu has great chances to take also this award, but mathematically eligible still are all other round 3 participants.

Race Green Autosports has increased their lead by another 3 points during round 3 and has 15 points lead over S.Jurvansuu's Vortex.eu and 32 over CoRe Racing. With 27 points possible in each round for a team (with 2 or more drivers) title is still up for grabs. Similar situation is in Nations Cup,where Latvia leads 15 points over Finland with Germany in 3rd with 29 points gap.

Round 4 will already decide both 2-round titles - AWS RB4 Master and Cross Challenge winner with a tough race in Fern Bay Rallycross with RB4. Next round also will be the last chance for anyone else, who still hasn't scored any points in Drivers Championship to do so and qualify for the last round as only drivers with points in their account will be allowed to take part in final round of AWS! Due other events in LFS calendar, next round will be with 3 weeks gap - in 23rd february!
Finally a Cross Track i like in next roundtable.

And again Nicely written rony.
This was pretty fun race. Didnt even expect so good tbh...Only fail was that Dust LOD details was set to the max. Coudnt see cars in front and @ start i went to the back for safety. During the race I started to get quicker and quicker. Managed to catch Rony and then we both catched kiste, but then lil suspension damage made pretty bumpy landing and i should give up and let leader lap me.

Round 4

Sunday, 23rd Ferbuary
19:00 UTC / 20:00 CET / 21:00 EET

In next sunday the 3 weeks break in AWS 2014 season will be over and series returns with last 2 rounds in back-to-back weeks, starting with hot action on the hot Caribbean island of Jamaica with round 4 - the Jamaican Trophy. Hot will be the hybrid tyres of RB4 and hot will be drivers' temperaments as there is not much room for side-by-side action meaning that the race can turn more into bumper-to-bumper action in the sandy jamaican circuit.

With 2 rounds left in the series,we have 2 strong leaders with 3rd driver still able to spoil the championship party for leading 2. Allthough S.Jurvansuu can clinch the main title if he wins by taking both bonus points (assuming that he starts last round to not lose attendance bonus point) and Matiss finishes no higher than 5th. Much easier for S.Jurvansuu will be to secure Rookie of the Year title,as he may not score less points then C.Kistner in this round while finishing in top 8 to take this award. Also this will be the deciding round for both 2-round small titles - AWS RB4 Master and Cross Challenge winner. Since both championships consists only from 2 rounds, there are too many possibilities to start pre-race calculations.

This will be also the final chance for everyone else to qualify for last race of AWS 2014 - Winter 200. Currently 18 drivers have secured their spot for the fastest race in series' calendar, anyone else has to finish this race to do so!

Weird race.

Sorry to matiss for that hard overtake in first laps but you were lagging very hard in that state of race... You jumped like a kangaroo for me and were much more outside then you were in real. but that rusty revenge wasnt nice either.

Anywasys grats for Matiss and Joku in the champ. both were the fastest drivers. We will see us in final oval race.
#65 - Sn1p
Sorry kiste for that move, it really wasn't nice from me, but i was a bit mad about your overtaking that why made this revenge.
The race was lucky of these time outs and lc what gave me 1st position in race.
Round 4 official results / Round 5 info
Series is closing to it's culmination, meaning that action on track is getting even more hot,but still - no protests,no penalties!

However, even if there was no official protest posted,post-race discussion draw attention to connection problems between most drivers from Finland and event server. Since these problems included just 3 drivers,it has been decided, that race results will stand as they were, but with addition that's normally isn't practiced (usually we use the unwritten rule "longest run counts") - drivers with undoubtable connection problems in race of round 4 will get their laps counted together through out the race between time-outs. This is considered as the most fair action,as it would be unfair to drivers without technical problems to cancel and/or reschedule the race due technical problems of others.

Round 4 official results / Championship standings

Despite qualifying just 4th and seeing the finnish trio pulling away early in race,Matiss saw 2 of the early leaders losing connection and catched the 3rd driver to make an overtake for win with 5 laps to go. This became the 1st round of this season with other podium finishers - Matiss took the top step for 2nd time, while other steps were taken by new podium visiters - the finnish new entrant Zupi finished 2nd and canadian driver Falcon took 3rd.

This had to be the very big jump towards the main title for S.Jurvansuu,as he took the pole position and pulled away from the rest in early phase, but connection problems stroke and he lost this race. But still he was dedicated to keep himself in race by rejoining after every time-out,at the end of race collecting a total of 25 laps, which gave him 7th position in this race, while taking both bonus points. And with these results AWS 2014 has reached it's culmination before final round - both championship contenders now are tied in points standings! Despite Matiss being rated as 1st due having more 2nd place finishes (both drivers have 2 wins),championship outcome is very simple - if no bonus points involved (or equally spread between the two),then the champion is the driver who finishes higher then his rival,if both drivers score same amount of points,Matiss wins the championship in any scenario.

Due C.Kistner's retirement,S.Jurvansuu has secured the AWS Rookie of the Year title. By winning both RB4 rounds,Matiss has clinched the AWS RB4 Master title and with win in 2nd rallycross round - also the Cross Challenge award. In opposite to last year's 2 point thriller in last round, this year Race Green Autosports wins the AWS Teams Championship after 4 of 5 rounds.

Last round will decide the outcome of 3 titles:
AWS Drivers Champion (and also the money prizes) - Matiss vs S.Jurvansuu, while C.Kistner has to defend his 3rd place from possible threats.
AWS FXR Master - S.Jurvansuu needs to finish in top6 to secure the title.
AWS Nations Cup - 2time defending champions Latvia has the toughest year in this league, still having solid 19 points lead over closest rivals Finland with 27 points possible in single round.

The final round is less then a week away,so here is also the info:

Round 5

Sunday, 2nd March
19:00 UTC / 20:00 CET / 21:00 EET

As usually the AWS season ends with the fastest round - the 200 kilometers long race around the Kyoto Oval. It has always been a race where teamwork plays big role as single car is slower then cooperating 2 or more cars. As the teamwork, the Nascar like tandem bumpdrafting has been used mostly, but it always includes more risk then the slingshot slipstream drafting seen in other events. That's why it's needed to post a reminder - bumpdrafting is not forbidden, but in case of any protests about crashes,it will be treated as intentional contact,so it's advised to take care about your partners.

Also this round will feature single driver hotlap qualifying. The qualifying order will be main championship standings run in reversed order - the lowest position will start the qualifying with championship leader running last. Every driver will have 1 outlap and 2 timed hotlaps, after which he should spectate.

Round info:
Track: Kyoto Oval (KY1)
Laps: 67 (201km)
Car: FXR
Previous winners: S M.Kapal (2013), spdoReno (2012)

Quote from Eclipsed :Sorry,it's a bit too late,as round 4 was last sunday...

Too bad, I bet there would be a great turn out for the oval.
Will be the bump drafting be allowed in the final oval round ?
Quote from Eclipsed :(...)bumpdrafting is not forbidden, but in case of any protests about crashes,it will be treated as intentional contact,so it's advised to take care about your partners.

Now are drivers allowed if we're shooting for "Team Championship" or just none period? I'm not going to push the issue, just curious if I can get an Oval driver in.
