LFS's secret/hidden tracks.
While playing LFS through the years I have discovered two secret tracks, one as part of south city and one as part off autocross. And I was wondering if anyone else has found any of these hidden tracks and could guide me to where they are.
Some videos as to show some of the tracks though I don't know where to find most of these ones.

Well all i find was this video, which was made 10 years ago. you clearly see a new track there, not sure if its hidden or not tho...

Isn't that the S3 Rockingham track?
Interesting thread.

I think the most intriguing "hidden track" is the South City one in the last video. It drives just as any other track, it has flow and good elevation changes. It even has cameras installed... Now that we have open configs and ramps at South City we can even race on it, all we have to do is put ramps to bypass the walls surrounding it. Not many people seem to realize that yet, sadly. It would be nice if the devs removed the barriers accessing the track on open configs, so we could scrap ramps altogether. I've always wondered if it is a track that was supposed to make it to S2 but got scrapped at some stage of development, long, long ago. Because the basics are there, the main missing point now is the scenery. South City Sprint 3, South City Enduro... Sounds good right?

Aston bridge and Autocross hidden kart track can be accessed more easily nowadays with open configs. I've even seen the Aston bridge used on a layout once(easier to do with new autocross objects).

The rest of them is mostly access and peripheral roads really, interesting but you can't use really use them.

"Secret track 5" is the Aston bridge, which is just before AS2's turn 1. Just put a layout start point on top of it, preferably on an open config.

Trying to access the rest of them will mostly result in you getting out of bounds, not sure how Chudy does it.

Thanks for the help on Aston Bridge Smile Now 7 more to go. Smile
Why don't you load the environment you saw the unknown track in open config mode and discover yourself with shift+u?

Cause I have no idea what track there from and where they are?!?
that one track, let´s call it "south city industrial" has been there for a long time now, and i was and still am confused on why scavier didn´t open that area when they redesigned the old south city? it even is a part of the map on the lfs website for south city. to open up this area is one of the things i also asked a long time ago. just like the revamped westfield opening that area should not be that much work, isn´t it?
maybe this comes with the next update as part of overall improved and extended tracks? that way even if they just introduce an new car or the tire physics, it would be a nice addition.

peace, mo
p.s. @benom: some of the videos don´t play here in germany, because of a youtube block for unlicenced music. can you reupload the videos without music (or even without any sound if you can´t remove the music alone from the audiotrack).

The "hidden track" that is so secret that we at Cesav did an official race there last month Razz

I attach a replay so you guys can see/grab the layout we made, even with custom pits.

Those are very old videos.
There are many more roads and places like.
The different autocross areas (L-shaped parking lot, skipad, dragstrip) have roads connecting them. (There are some obstactles like gates.)
There is also a hidden kart-track, this layout makes it easy driveable: https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/74199

It is bit too much to list all, but these track images help to find locations:

With autocross editor you can change your start point, to get behind walls and such.

The "Industry" area has been used for races, but problem is that to get into that part it needs some ramps, which looks strange and creates jumps. It is funny for novelity but is not suitable for racing I think.

I think the better autocross editor, open layout options etc have bit removed the need for those '"scenery' tracks.
No need to use the hidden kart-track on Autocross area when you can build much better ones. (Or drive the actual new kart tracks)
Since some versions Westhill has by far the larget amount of extra roads and terrain, and in higher quality than before.
About the long unused section at South City - I'm preparing online event there and on few other tracks - the layout is almost done (without any stupid jumps) and now I'm working on rules itself.

I'd like to make it happen on March hopefully.
there is a very big secret part in the new westhill!

For those that don't read the forum too much, South City will be getting the Westhill treatment at some point. I think its relatively high on the todo list.

Oh, it's no big "secret" - Concept Racing used it for an event back in 2011, Genuine and MTDZX used it for public racing in 2011 and 2015 respectively, and as you said, CESAV held an event on it recently(creativity points for the pitlane and slab use BTW, shows that we don't need ramps afterallSmile) - more something that gets constantly overlooked for some reason.

Really hyped for a potential South City update anyway, if it ever happens of course. By far the current map with the most untapped potential, especially with open configs.
We are definitely interested in a SO open update. We think a couple of S3 tracks are important to get out before that point (although all plans are open and subject to change).
To be honest, I prefer to have new tracks rather than updating existing ones. (new Westhill is awesome, but the old one was good too and I think it would be better to have old Westhill + brand new track with quality of new Westhill (2 tracks) rather than having just the updated 1).

Just my opinion...

EDIT: but just expanding existing South City is welcome Smile
in my opinion updating south city runs the risk of completely ruining the track. I could understand an update to a less aesthetically appealing track, like Aston, but to be honest with you they all look great and a new track would be much more enticing.

To be blunt, I much preferred the old Westhill driving surface to the new one, I really enjoyed the way it was, and feel though this new version has some hugely better areas, some amazing parts got removed, especially the way the downhill chicane was previously, as well as the really long sweeper on the other hill.
South City is way too wide, open and fast on the longer configs. Open up the ramp from the back straight of SO4 and then both straights are reduced and a nasty tight turn introduced.

EDIT: Some boss music on one or two videos in OP

Updated SO doesn't necessary mean altered layout. Instead it could mean an expansion(my guess would be new/existing roads available to access via open configs, possibly 1 or 2 new configurations). After all SO has already had one pretty big update since the S1 days, plus 2 new configurations(SO5 and SO6), and yet the track layout has pretty much remained unchanged over the years.

Speculation at this point, of course...Smile

Partly agree about Westhill, I like the new version but the old one had its charm and I wish it was still available.
