Shift-button functionallity for wheelbutton possible?
I was wondering if it were possible to add some kind of Shift-button functionalliy to my wheels buttons? Kind of like pressing Shift + U on my keyboard to get additional key available.

Currently I have 6 buttons + 2 paddles on my wheel (Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel), and I'm out of buttons that I could really use.

So if I press button X on the wheel I would get an addtional 7 buttons to assign to new functions.

My joystick (Saitek X-52) has this kind of function built in, with a pinkie-swtich (or whatever it's called), which allows me to gain additional buttons to use.

So is there any software that would work on a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel that does this kind of thing?
I know that I have linked to it alot, but you should try autohotkey. You might be able to set up some sort of if/then/else to do what you want.

You need Joy2Key. It has just the functionality you're asking about. You can use it to assign buttons to basically any key combination or mouse movement, then you can define multiple configurations within one profile and choose a button to switch between the profiles. Incredibly useful little program.
Wow, that is pretty nifty. Too bad I have trouble remembering my buttons as it is. Adding a second possible set will drive into curling up into the fetal position while rocking back and forth.
