This is my first thread (I should have shared my files sooner, but just got some time to figure this out).

I've got a bunch of Sound files for all the cars, various Setups (mostly for fun) and also some modified interior textures (I'll include a link to where I downloaded the original customization if I can).

LFS is one of my most favoured driving games (for it's realism)

I enjoy cruising, but sometimes the original interiors aren't as defined as I'd like. I've looked around on the forum and found this great one by "BOSCHO"

I think it's awesome, but the original back seat in the RB4 looked a bit old (and blurry), so I've tinkered around with the .dds and made some changes. (2048x2048 dimensions used)

(to use the .dds files in game, just drag them into the directory LFS/data/dds (make sure you backup your original)

New textures include:

- Rear Side Panels
- Rear Seats (black leather)
- Carpet (black)
- Intercooler (exposed)
- Headliner (cream)
- Grill & Intake (black mesh)
- Headlights (high res lights/custom reflector)
- Tail Lights (black mesh on red lens only)

I found this great high res interior for the FZ50 by 'dubmods' on the 'city-driving' forum

It has some amazing LED lights for the rear of the car, but I think the new front lights are too small. So I edited the .dds and just repositioned some high res lights. (2048x2048 dimensions used)

While I was updating my FZ interior I came upon a nice looking sparco wheel on the 'city-driving' forum (post #6)

It's got a nice high resolution to it, but I thought the grip was too dark. I tried the custom centre with the original grip (and it looked quite good); but then I remembered sparco wheels had a yellow band at the top.

Hopefully my version looks cool

The LX6 is one fine cruise machine, with a nice interior (but I was curious what mods were out there, so here's what I found).

First I found some cool LED lights (but stock headlamps) by 'Smurfen'

Two fine examples, but can I use both?

Off course! (obviously all credit goes to the original posts respectively)

I ended up using the high res interior with some modifications and also merged the LED lights in.

Custom textures include:

- Side Exhaust (deeper toned colours) *I also used the same exhaust on LX4 as LX6*
- Headlamps (in HID style)
- Dashboard Instruments (darker screws/switches)
- Bucket Seat (removed the over-bright edge)

If you didn't guess from my username, I'm a huge fan of the Knight Rider television series of the 80's! And as such I really enjoy driving all of the XR cars

I've made many versions of skins/setups/engine to create my version of K.I.T.T. in LFS. And finally I have a combination that I'm happy to share here. As I progress I'll come back to this post and add any changes/improvements I've made.

Directory placement as follows: (make sure to extract any .zip/.rar files first)
Skins - LFS/data/skins
Engine Sounds - LFS/data/engine
Setups - LFS/data/setups

To start off, the skin with that classic Red Scanner

Quite a few engine sounds I now realize, to make it simple;
I like to use:

- XRG_KNIGHT-ITT.eng
- XRT_KNIGHT-ITT.eng
- XRR_KNIGHT-ITT (PURSUIT) V2.eng

For the setups: (I've adjusted them to my driving style, so feel free to change them as you need)

- XRG (default setup is fine)
- XRT_K.I.T.T..set
- XRR_Kitt Cruise v2.set (is what I use atm, on Reality Cruise servers )

I've also created Pontiac style Tail Lights (experimented with various tints that don't affect brightness too much & have also left the reverse lamps stock).

Update:

New setup for XRR 'KITT Cruise v3', better top speed not affecting acceleration too much (used mostly on Westhill cruise layouts)

Some of these I find quite pleasing when cruising,
my favourites include:

- CRUISER (suits the classic Mini style skins)
- Default-Bean (made with my 'UF1_Mr.BEAN-AK09' skin in mind)
- My Tuner (one of my best UF1 sounds I reckon)
- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, works good on most cars; especially GTR's)


*Edit - just remembered something important, if you stop suddenly (hit a wall/another car) the abrupt stop makes a deep bass rumble with some of my louder sound files. If this happens to you just press 'Shift + W' to reinitialise the sound within LFS.*

Time for an update, I think :

- Tamed-V8 + Whine (from the RB4 version, nice to cruise with my A-Team skin).

Next up I've gathered my XFG engine sounds.

The following are amongst my favourite to use:

- my-smooth-power (has a nice buzz at high rpm after throttle release, originally made for LX6)
- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, works good on most cars; especially GTR's)
- DEFAULT-Louder (possible boy racer sound )
- Tamed-V8 + Whine (nice smooth V8 sound, originally made for RB4)
- MyOwnHarleyDavidson-v3 (if I did have a Harley , sounds best up to 4000rpm)
- Extra-Juice2 (another boy racer alternative )

- 2Stroke (I don't use this one as often as I'd like, because for best results you need to over rev the engine [obviously you're going to lose power after such actions) which helps to provide that distinct popping sound

Update:

- Hole in ehxaust (as the name suggests, ideal for use with a Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement type of skin )

Here we have my collection of XRG engine sounds.

It's safe to say, since my many days of cruising on demo I've really grown to the XRG!

So here are my favourites:

- SFX-mine (I'm pretty sure this was one of my first custom engine sounds )
- KNIGHT-ITT (originally from my XRT, however no turbo sound)
- STARION (a more subtle version of 'KNIGHT-ITT', made with my 'XRG_JCStarionAK09' skin in mind)
- Default-Pro (Similar attributes to the XFG version)
- TURBO T4XI (a more pronounced version of 'STARION', which somehow doesn't sound like 'KNIGHT-ITT')

- Wartburg Unleashed (same with '2Stroke' from XFG, you need to over rev for best results)

BEWARE
The 'HOTROD' sounds are very loud [Imagine if the exhaust fell off, inside a small room ]

(definitely not recommended if you have headphones )
However, 'HOTRODsoft 2013' should be easier on the ears.

Update:

- STARION(straight pipe) (great for a stanced/slammed setup)
- Cruise17a1 (has a odd sound at low rpm but clears up once higher revs achieved (kind of like a slipping fan belt , suits a nice audi rally skin)
- Cruise17a2 (similar to 'Cruise17a1' but smoother/more refined).

Knight Rider (Y)

Now for the LX4 engine sounds, I'll need to split it into two categories.
(because of a project I started some time ago, and never finished )

First off, my favourites for the LX4:

- Antonije (another of my earlier engine sounds, originally for the LX6)
- CATERHAM!!! (also originally made for the LX6)
- Mine (something sportier for the LX4)
- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, works good on most cars; especially GTR's)

- SFX-Rattle (just for fun, sounds like a tractor at 500rpm )

Ok, so the reason for the second set of LX4 engine sounds:
I've attached an image of my dad's pride and joy , and I was curious if I could get the LX4 to look, sound and handle like it (within reason).

In terms of looks, my initial inspiration was more the view of the bonnet through the windscreen (since the LX4 reminds me of it). This isn't a final version of the skin (not my best if I admit, but to be fair I was using MS paint ). I've also included my helmet skin (just managed to squeeze those goggles over the visor).

I've used some official figures from service history/MOTs to help with the suspension setup, so that it looks and handles like it should (and it does, unfortunately irl the handling isn't great; and in game it handles like it did with our old cross-ply tyres ) [needless to say, it requires skill to go in a straight line at high speeds]. The gearbox ratios are the best I can do (provided revs don't pass 7000rpm) + a 4 speed manual. If you do plan on going round a corner, I'd advise slowing right down.

Now for the Engine Sound files, I've iterated a lot with these , but I'm happy with the results.
I've put two lists for these as the following -

Favourite sounds relating to project:
- BU 2381 (my first proper attempt, has the right sound in lower range)
- BU 2381 (v4a) (my most recent and I think accurate version)

Further sound testing for that pre-war engine noise:

- My Pre-War Bugatti (sounds perfect for a 1920's era racer )
- SOUND2C (a subtle version of the above mentioned, but perfect for cruising)

Next up is the LX6!

There are quite a few, but I'll try to narrow down my favourites:

- Antonije (there's something nice about this one, really smooth)
- Buggy-AK09 (if you like the sound of RC (remote control) cars, you'll like this )
- CATERHAM!!! (my interpretation of the perfect LX6 sound )
- MyCorvette (a great muscle sound, particularly in lower revs)
- QUIET-loudV8!!!v2 (I should pick some shorter file names, but a nice tuned sound)
- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, works good on most cars; especially GTR's)
- SOUND2C (originally for the LX4, good for cruising)
- Super-DeSouza (another early sound, made with my 'LX6_SuperDeSouza' skin in mind)
- THE SCREAMER-quieter (as the revs climb it gets louder till it screams )

- DNA 88T (v1) (is a second part of my unfinished LX4 project, for our friend's classic (which is better suited for the LX6)
[I should go back to this as the real thing sounds way better ]

im thinking share my textures so i ask a friend for make a video about "my textures" because i'm busy,just no time...he make video but unfortunately after show some textures he show a mod so i cant post here.i have a link for you download, this is some textures i collected after buy for the first time S2 license, i think can be interesting for you. allready you have a document with proper credits for every texture,you can find "easy" on forum.

Continuing down the list we have the RB4.

For this car I've got two main types of engine sounds, experimenting with v8-like sounds, and a series of rally-type sounds.
(some exceed the upload size limit, so you'll have to unzip them before use)

My list of favourites include:

- my-smooth-power (originally for the LX6, but nice sound for cruising)
- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, works good on most cars; especially GTR's)
- GillsCorvette(MINE) (I like the original [found on a 'Gills4life' post] but I wanted some more grunt)
- RALLI^v^v^vART (stylized as RALLI|||ART, I this rally style sound)
- Tamed-V8 + Whine (perfect for a weekend cruise , alternatively I have some louder versions too)
- ^32F2F ^0Bean (coloured text in filename, inspired after watching some fast & furious films )
- Quattro2 AK09 (I was trying to make sounds that go with some Audi skins I use, not bad but could be better)
- RB4-Rally AK09 v2a (another Quattro inspired sound, sounds good in lower rpms)
- AK09-RallyCar (perhaps better suited to short runs, has an interesting pitch to it) [quite loud]

WARNING, the following engine sounds might deafen you:

- THE HEARTBREAKER (both versions are insanely loud, I was experimenting with full bass speakers , nice rumble on these; after 5000rpm it softens)
- TUNER^c) (just messing around with volume)
- RB4-Rally (many of these are loud, except v3a)

Hope you enjoy these as much as I have

the lights are okay ingame, however the interior wasnt really a priority for me, so you might wanna change that

Edit all you like on it. im currently working on changing few things on these myself. for one, the minor headlight, i just havent found a really nice substitue yet.
however. i eneded up making some Lambo gallardo lights instead for XR

Nice stuff, thanks for sharing . I used real photos of the transam tail lights and re-worked them for my texture (with a 50% opacity on the tint if I remember correctly). I would've had it much darker, but for cruising purposes I like knowing if someone is slowing down in front of me .

I like what you've done with the XRR headlight (I forgot about using those, something new to try out ). As for the minor headlight, I left mine stock because it's the same as the reverse lamp in-game and I didn't want to mess around with those.

Next up are my FXO engine sounds!

Before I start my list, I have to say my all time favourite FX sounds are by 'Gills4life'; the "FXO_GillsCivicVtec" & "FXR_GillsITCC"

(One of my sound files exceeded the limit to upload, so you'll need to unzip it before use)

Here's a list of my favourite to use:

- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, works good on most cars; especially GTR's)
- BassCruiser (one of my earlier sound files, a treat for the ears )
- My Audi Sound2 (my first attempt at making an Audi-like sound)
- My Tuner1 (a street racer style sound)
- LOUDSmooth (another street racer style sound )
- BugattiBlack-tuner (made with my "FXO_BugattiBlack" skin in mind)
- Quattro AK09 (a more successful Audi sound, I think )
- BassCruiser2 (quieter version)

- GillsITCC(mine) (just for fun )
- GB (this series was experimental, take care with "GB2" & "GB3" as they are quite loud)
- KNIGHT-ITT (PURSUIT) V2 (originally for the XRR, that turbo spooling sounds like a jet ready for take-off )

Update:

- Smooth2018 (smooth like pudding, even more so than 'GB4')
- Quattro2.1 AK09 (another ear friendly sound, more enjoyable for longer drives).

Just in time for summer! Here's my short but sweet collection of XRT Engine Sounds

I realise I've already got my Knight Rider stuff on a separate post, but I don't want to split my collection here and there.

Let's not ramble on too much , here's my favourites:

- SomeTuning (my first custom sound for XRT, would suit a drift car quite well ) [quite loud]
- My-SuperSport (a nice sporty sound for long runs)
- My RX7 (wish I had an RX7 , I would like if it sounded like this)
- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, works good on most cars; especially GTR's)
- Monster Type R (something for you bass lovers ) [also quite loud]
- MEATY-TUNER!!! (definitely one of my better XRT sounds, reminds me of some tuned Nissan engines )
- KNIGHT-ITT (perfect sound for my Knight Rider skin )
- KNIGHT-ITT (v2) (a more realistic Pontiac sound )

The following Engine Sounds are very loud:

- ^c) (stylized as a smiley, just for fun) [also have a quieter version]
- SomeTuning v2.1 (similar to v2, but much louder) [new]
- Monster (yes, it is) [new]
- ChargerV8Test3 (approach with caution) [new]
- GillsV8(mine)v2 (v2.1 is nice, but if you need more, then look no further)

Update: (Lots of new sounds to play with )

- SomeTuning v2 (definitely an improvement over my original, also has a turbo now )
- NotSoMonster Type R (calmed down version of 'Monster Type R' + spooling fun)
- MEATY-TUNER!!!v2? (well it's a v2, but is it worthy of the name?)
- ChargerV8Test2 (quite the challenge to make a V8 sound, probably my best attempt)
- GillsV8(mine)v2.1 (Yes, I still maintain 'Gills4life' is the best, so I thought I'd rework their version, I'm very much in for cruising)
- MEATY-TUNER!!!v1.1 wip (the original was my best, v2 didn't quite do it for me, so back to the drawing board [although atm it is worlds ahead of the original, it isn't quite finished; but you've got to try it ].

Here we have my collection of RAC Engine Sounds. Great looking car, maybe in the future I'll have more sounds for it .

The following are my favourite to use:

- my-smooth-power (originally made for the LX6, great to cruise with )
- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, definitely a of mine)
- TC-minemore ("TC" found on forum, my version has more grunt, also nice for cruising)
- POLICE (made for a police skin I found, has a tuner feel to it)
- Tamed-V8 + Whine (originally made for the RB4, perfect for fast cruising )

- SFX-wartburg(mine) (2-Stroke like sound, for best results you will need to over-rev the engine )

WARNING, The following engine sounds are quite loud:

- LAMBO (made for a Lamborghini skin I found some time ago, good rumble in low rpms )
- Novitec-Louder (another racing sound)
- TUNED BY ME (good thing I'm not a mechanic, sounds better coming off the revs, with a blow-off valve too )

The flat 6 in the FZ5 provides a good base for a variety of custom Engine Sounds
Before I continue, I must recommend you try out "FZ5_Gills350z" by "Gills4life", it's definitely a must have .

Here are my favourite to use:

- my-smooth-power (originally for the LX6, perfect smooth sound for cruising)
- SFX-mine (a racing sound, originally made for the XRG, works better with 4 cylinder blocks, but interesting pitch to it)
- my Supercar (my first custom sound for the FZ5, perfect for fast driving )
- My American Muscle (another early sound, great bass when coming off the revs)
- My Bugatti Veyron (made this for a Veyron skin I was making [and never finished ], but definitely my )
- AK09 - V8 (originally made for the FO8, sounds like a modified Porsche out of Need for Speed )
- AK09 - BASS&POWER v2 (my best from the FO8, sounds like thunder!)
- Smooth HotRod-AK09 (made with my "FZ5_Hotrod-AK09" skin in mind)

- GillsITCC(FZ5) (originally by "Gills4life" for FXR [minor changes], something smooth for longer drives)

WARNING, The following engine sounds are quite loud:

- My-Power (originally for the LX6, ever the monstrous sound ; crazy on a flat-out drag race )
- Custom FZ-AK09 (something original, screams at higher rpms)

Now for the GTR section of this thread.

The default sound for the UFR is actually quite good, but I have some of my own racing/cruising sounds which I think you will enjoy too.

These are my favourite to use:
- my-smooth-power (originally for the LX6, nice for a relaxed driving pace)
- SFX-mine (originally for the XRG, great universal racing sound )
- Nasty (my first custom sound for the UFR, based on default, for a pure racing feel)
- Default-Bean (originally for the UF1, to be used with my "UFR_Mr.BEAN-AK09" skin)
- AK09 - V8 (originally for the FO8 [includes formula starter/shifter], great for fast driving & cruising )
- Tuned-AK09 (another great racing sound )

- CRUISER (also from the UF1, in lower rpms feels like an old mini, higher rpms are fun with that gear whine )

WARNING, The following engine sound is quite loud:

- WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot (just for fun , not too loud in lower rpms)
