Open Endurance Cup Rules
Version 6.0, changes to Version 5.0.1 are blue



Requirements
Live for Speed - most recent version (no incompatible test patches)
All drivers are least S2 licensed, S3 license only required for Rockingham rounds.



Sign-ups
Sign-ups will be handled with the LFS League Section script. The sign-up period opens at least two weeks before the start of the first event and ends with the start of the first session of the last event.
To apply for a spot, you need to enter your team’s name, your desired starting number and LFSWorld- and in-game-names for your team's drivers. You will also be asked to state your choice of car. Starting numbers are determined for every team by the race administration and will generally reflect the previous season's final standings of the team's cup.
The sign-ups of an applicant are valid for one car. Applicants wanting to enter more cars must enter each car with a separate sign-up. Drivers can only be entered on one car and the driver who signs the team up cannot be changed.
If the given information is correct, the admins will approve your application and you are signed-up.
A team's line-up can consist of one driver but cannot exceed three drivers.
All information given and changes made until 30 minutes before the start of the qualifying session will be considered in time, so any changes submitted after that moment are late. Late changes to the team's line-up are penalised with a ten second [10 s] pit stop time penalty added to the total mandatory pit stop time given, when the respective driver enters the car.



Classes
The Open Endurance Cup features an open class structure. This is the list of eligible cars and car categories:
LRF Green FZ5 LX6 RAC
TBO4 Yellow FXO LX4 RB4 XRT

Teams can choose in which class and car they are participating in until 30 minutes before the start of the qualifying. Late changes to the team's car and/or class are penalised with a drive-through penalty at the start of the race.



Balance of Performance
To balance the strengths of cars within each class, the cars will be fitted with the following weights, restrictions and/or pit stop times.
A dynamic balancing system is introduced to balance the cars on a race-by-race basis. The methods used in the dynamic balancing system need to be transparently published.
The mandatory pit stop times are a minimum time a competitor has to spend in the pit service area over the course of the race session. They are calculated considering the world record lap time, the race distance, the expected number of stints and the expected service times of the pit stop. It is assumed that the change of all tires takes a consistent time and the refueling takes place at a consistent rate. It is furthermore assumed, that the change of cars’ performances throughout a stint are similar enough, to base the model on WR laps.
Failure to complete the pit stop times will result in a post-race time penalty of 60 s + Δt, where Δt is the difference between the mandatory pit stop time and the served pit stop time rounded up to the next whole second. If the resulting penalty may have resulted in the car completing less laps, the lap count may be adjusted accordingly by the race administartion with expaination.
The pit stop times will be published in the threads for each round.



Liveries
All skins for a car must contain the provided, required elements. The number board featuring the team's starting number shall be placed on each side of the car and on the hood/bonnet. A correct skin in the race session will be awarded with one bonus point.



Fairness
The on-track behaviour complies with the Rules of Clean Racing, emphasising that intentional ramming and unfair gameplay are prohibited.
The correct car handicaps, as announced in Balance of Performance (air restrictors, additional weights) are always to be used during the event.
When exiting pit lane, the traffic on the racetrack has the right-of-way. Moreover, the blend line towards the racetrack may not be crossed. On some racetracks, neither the pit entry nor exit blend lines may be crossed, but this will be announced in advance (in the race schedule and/or briefing). Crossing the blend line(s) results in a warning, if the oncoming traffic is not disturbed, a ten second [10 s] pit stop time penalty added to the total mandatory pit stop time, if the oncoming traffic is disturbed, or a thirty second [30 s] pit stop time penalty added to the total mandatory pit stop time, if the crossing of the blend line causes an incident.
Two tyres are to be kept on the racetrack, including kerbs, at any time! If a participant leaves the track with more tyres and gains an advantage, that advantage must be neutralised (for example: slowing down distinctly, letting the fellow competitor pass again).
Neither the participant overtaking nor the one getting overtaken has a right to the ideal line in any way. Both drivers must be ready to yield to avoid an accident, regardless of whether they feel they're in the right.
When receiving blue flags, one must let the overtaking car pass in a timely fashion. However, this does not mean that the blue flagged car must pull over in an instant. The faster participant must be patient and overtake the blue flagged competitor fair manner, without putting him/her at risk. Additionally, lapping manoeuvres should only be carried out at parts of the track, on which it is suitable to overtake a slower car (chicanes are not included on this list).
Yellow flags indicate potentially dangerous situations. Every participant must be alert and be prepared to slow down if needed.
A stationary car (e.g. run out of fuel) may be pushed by a fellow competitor, who has not finished the race already. The pushing has must be executed in a way not endangering other cars, which are still in the race.
The 'admins' oversee Open Endurance Cup events. They will ensure the correct course of events and keep an eye on the participants' behaviour, including potential penalties being given out during the race. Their orders must be obeyed! The decisions they make are factual and must be accepted without discussion to not disturb the fellow competitors!
The use of button clutch is not allowed during the events. Drivers shall use auto clutch or, if they use H-shifters, axis clutch. Drivers found to have used the button clutch during the event will be excluded from the session.



Course of the Events
An event consists of a 20-minute qualifying practice session and the race session.
Drivers shall compete the sessions in the correct name format: Beginning with the starting number in the class colour and followed by the in-game name as given in the sign-up script.

Please note: LFS supports only 21 characters for names, with every change of colour/language demanding two. Therefore, this example would not fit. Heads up when choosing the name (ideally before signing-in)!
During qualifying practice session and race session, moderate chatting is allowed. Admins reserve the right to close the chat at any time, failure to adhere to a closed chat results in a five second [5 s] pit stop time penalty added to the total mandatory pit stop time per line of chat.



Qualifying
The qualifying practice session is a 20-minute long session. There is no lap limit. Jumping to the pit screen/into spectating (Shift+S/P) mode is allowed at any time.
Due to the number of different classes it is suggested to use as much time of the session as possible.
During the qualifying practice session only one driver of any competing team shall be on server and on track at any time.
Only teams with at least one scored lap time can start the race, unless decided otherwise by the race administration.



Race
The grid is set 10 minutes before the start of the race by the qualifying result within the classes, with the faster classes starting in front of the slower classes.
The race will be started with a standard standing start.
Penalites issued by the software and are converted into pit stop time penaties, added to the total mandatory pit stop time. Drive-through penalties are converted to twenty second [20 s] penalties, stop-and-go infringements are converted to thirty second [30 s] penalties.

Take care (especially at the start)! The race will not be restarted. A race may be suspended, when technical problems or administration errors (an accidental restart command) provoke the involuntary retirement of a big, not specified, number of participants. Moreover, the race can be postponed or cancelled if the number of competitors is too low.
The return to the pit menu (Shift+S/P) and a subsequent rejoin into the race is allowed. A thirty second [30 s] pit stop time penalty added to the total mandatory pit stop time
The driver, who sets the qualifying time for his team, must drive at least one lap.
For a driver change, the entering driver should only join the server on the current driver’s in-lap and the outgoing driver should leave the server leave the server within one lap.



Classification
Seperate classifications will be published: The Open Endurance Cup for Teams and the Open Endurance Cup for Drivers. All classes score into these Cups based on the formula points=10*(0.5+starters-position)/starters (the results are attached at the end). Moreover, there are the class classifications for results scored within a class.
A team having completed half the race distrance of the race winner, or when the only car in its class, competed for at least 91 minutes, half points are credited. Full points are credited when the team completed 90% or more of the race winner's distance, or when the only car in its class, competed for at least 163 minutes.
Bonus points are awarded to those teams being classified in races longer than 4 hours 30 minutes:
up to 4h30min 0
up to 8h30min 5
up to 12h30min 9
up to 16h30min 12
up to 20h30min 14
longer then 20h30min 15

Drivers completing a race on their own and are classified with full points will receive a bonus for the drivers' classification, increasing their points by 20%.


Protests
Protests shall only be filed in the designated thread. Every team can file a protest against scoring, decisions or incidents. This must happen until Tuesday 23:59 UTC after the event. Protests submitted after this deadline will be rejected.
A protest must contain information about the involved cars, the lap and/or the time in the session and a brief description of the incident.
All involved parties must only write one comment. Posts from uninvolved parties will be deleted.

So it at least is allowed to use blue. We all are in same class though, so I guess it's up to organizer to state do we need to follow this item in rules or not.

Yeah you are right to point this out. I forgot this rule in the rulebook.
Since everyone is in the same class, I will not enforce the colour blue to be used. Feel free to use white or grey (since they are well readable).
I really suggest to add rule that only one of team drives in qualifying - a bit less cars on track and what's more important - easier admining. I mean,it's quite a mess now,gridding takes much longer now.

Just to clarify, button clutch is not allowed, yes? So in settings Auto Clutch has to be set to [Yes]?

But I can still physically override the Autoclutch by pressing clutch when shifting up or down, correct? Does that still count as button clutch use? Even with AC set to "Yes"
Button clutch = manual clutch engaged by a button. This is to avoid unrealistic clutch engage speed when using clutch (instant on/off).

Using button to engage clutch while on autoclutch mode does not give this advantage,therefore noone has monitored this. But it will hurt only your clutch if you use it every time when shifting. I use it only on starts (clutch on,select 1st gear and rev up,clutch off by green) or when exiting garage.

Because it's auto cluth, not auto cluth + ignition cut-off or auto throttle lift. U still need to lift ur foot of throttle while u changing gears.

What about today's round, which was scheduled to take place on July 25 at 5:30 pm (London time)?

How many have signed up in total and why is our team still not listed as saved in the LFS database?

Will the situation repeat itself on August 22, 2021 for the transfer of the next round?

I must admit that this is a surprise for us and we were preparing for it as calmly as the strategic issues of "who is to go first, come second, and third", issues of car setup, smooth ride and cleanliness on the racetrack.

We hope that there will be no repetition of today, because if so and it will happen, we will thank you politely and we will find a competition on a different basis at someone else or other people, the organizers, which create a concept for various championships of various car classes in Live for Speed.
