ill rephrase, in a perfect world human rights should only apply to those who have done nothing wrong", and in a perfect world people wouldnt be wrongly convicted. but missjustice is another one of those things that happens and shouldnt, but theres not alot we can do about it. (nothing that i know of, but im only 16 so forgive me if im wrong, i havent experianced an awful lot in my life)

i know. i watched a program once, an undercover thing, the asaylum seekers where driving round in an expensive car (bmw i think), and renting the flat they where given for extra income.

No, I don't know what you want... I know what you should want, and all I can hope for is that is exactly what you want. You never mentioned iDi, but you specifically mention wrecking. If a thread about iDi is *not* turned into a feeding frenzy (which never happens) for flamers, then I don't see the harm in that either, but that's my opinion.

You only stated that this matter was already reported to the devs, and that in future we should send this to a forum mod, or the devs, instead of posting it on the forum...

You have the right to censor us, and you have the right to remove threads or make us shut up about certain topics. But even if you do, those actions still do not belong on a forum like this, in a community like this. The main problem is that some threads that I don't think should be allowed to continue (like the NOS thread that has been off-topic since it was opened and turned into namecalling after 2 posts) are still open, and obvious 'demo user' bashing is fine too (every thread started by a demo user is met with hostility), yet it seemed to me that discussing a useless cheat is forbidden.

I'm sorry if I come across like a thickheaded SOB, who is undermining your authority and credibility. Such is not my intention. It's just that I've seen plenty of larger communities (50000 members+) go down the drain because of bad management or moderation, and I'm not about to let that happen to LFS. Not only does that mean you should be clear about what threads you will close or not, but it also means enforcing the forum rules.

Ok, 1st of all I apologise for bringing this thread back up and I know somehow the mods don't like me showing this ont he public forum but the thing is, I can't upload MPR's through PM to tell them privately.

Attatched are 2 MPRs and the racer you are watching is so_sideways (His user ID) and he quite clearly is using a speed hack.

Would be nice if we could get him banned from all servers ASAP and I would like to see his liscence revoked.

Probably, but I'd really like an official statement to let us know what's being done about it, we're being told to usher down about it, but we're not getting any answers. You can't just sweep the truth under the rug and forget about it. I know I personally would like this issue addressed in a formal manner, to atleast have some assurance that this is a serious matter and it will be dealt with in the best possible way...

The problem will be rectified as it always is in these rare cases, what else did you expect?

if someone use this cheat not THAT obvious, just giving himself a push here and then in an big league, like Masters of endurence, ESL, e.g. ....

this could screw up the whole shit! so better they bring out a bug-fix for this by the end of this week or so... this just can ruin the whole game....

and not talking about it, is not the way. if we get the information: yep we work at it, the bugfix will be out on sunday, everybody would be fine and nobody would talk about it at all...

but now we don't even know when they will bring up a fix for this. maybe this will happen in the next big patch? or maybe in S2 beta, or maybe in S3??? who knows...

cheating is getting a main issue at the moment so better the devs do somethign about it, and don't mess around with track-selection menues and minimap-eyecandy....

well it seems somehow everyone using that cheat thingie.. gets kicked from server by a CPW error now on my server (CPW= Cheat Protection Warning) or something?

i hope the new cheat protection is upgraded so we can all move on fair and without cheats

Cheat is fixed with the U20 patch. Download the U20 patch, and play on U20 servers.

tweaker im on the U patch.. not 1 of the testpatches and people still get kicked on my server when they use the cheat..

so i think its not entirely in the patch .. but also in the network code itself or something.. so every version of lfs it protected now or something like that

Chances are people are probably trying to join your server with U20 and the files are not matching rather than being the cheat. Although do people still see servers that are running a patch they can't join?

I guess it's probably people who run any patch between U1 and U18. These versions are not included in cheat protection and thus it kicks them.

I played Americas Army FPS and there the cheating went really out of hand. Not just aimbots and wallhacks, those cheats were really complex. They could do pretty much everything, even ban everyone from the server or prevent themselves from being banned.

A war went on between cheaters and PunkBuster. End result? A pain in the ass PunkBuster with daily updates, you even got kicked if you used GameCam to record because it read a certain dll. Cheats still existed but were private.

This is one of the earlier more "amateur" cheats: TheForce-pipelineCobj.avi 3,4MB

well it was like this.. some of my lfs buddies had that cheat to.. so when i created a server with the U patch.. i asked them to come online to my server.. some of them had the U and some of them had the U20 patch... nothing happened they didnt get kicked.. so i asked them "ok enable that cheat" .. as soon as they enabled it.. they got kicked by CPW immideately..

so its not about false files or mismatches.. its really when you enable that cheat..

anyway punkbuster is nice yes.. i played alot of Return To Castle Wolfenstein back in the old days.. people couldnt use aimbots or anything .. only a tweaked config/cvars that is allowed on the server using the /pb_cvarlist command.. if your config is tweaked to much.. you get kicked by a cvar violation
