Event rating and other statistics (will be updated during the week)
FO8 is currently 4th least popular car in RTFR XL and this race was not very different from car's average - only 13 drivers were ready to tackle the 450 horsepower formula car at Aston's North configuration. This race turned into a pitstop battle,as quite many drivers needed a second visit to pitroad besides the usual mandatory one.
Again the combo picker did not join his wished race and there was only a single previous winner present,who also struggled with pace,which meant there might be a new addition to RTFR XL winners club. Turned out it was Upsas,who took over control of the race - he started from 4th position and gained lead exiting 1st turn of the 1st lap. Only period where he gave up his lead was during pitting cycle,where he spent in 2nd position 9 laps before retaking the lead which he held until race finish despite 2nd pitstop due blown tyres. Besides the fastest lap of the race,the lithuanian newcomer also set 10th biggest margin of victory in RTFR XL history - 50 seconds. Rony repeated his best achievement in this event series by finishing 2nd and scoring his 19th top5 finish. Also 3rd position was a repeat of personal best - Snoopy scored his 6th top5 finish. The only previous winner in the field J.A.Katila finished 4th,which is his 14th top5 finish,the polesitter Mishu finished 5th,3rd top5 finish for him,but probably a bit dissapointing after scoring his 1st pole position.
* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
The races of april and may brought to RTFR XL winners club 2 new drivers,last time 2 new drivers joined the winners club in following races was last year - also in april and may.
* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Every driver needed a tyre change in this race,so no work free pitstops in this race. So the mention goes simply to the one with shortest legal pitstop - yes,it's T.Soini again!
* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
The only previous winner still managed to show his skills by gaining positions - J.A.Katila started 9th,finished 4th and ended the race with +5. There was another +5 in this race,but due lower finishing position Kiinako counts just as 2nd best climber.
* HONORABLE MENTION :
Michal did have a good pace in early phase of this race,where he set the 4th fastest lap,but his race turned out to be a battle with some unmovable objects - only 8th place finish and possibly some lessons learned.
Currently there is no information what combo will be used in next RTFR XL 4 weeks later,the winner of this race has yet to reply with his combo choice. But there is at least small hint about next week's race - it will be some of the road legal cars up for racing in the normal RTFR,more info this weekend in this very same forum section.
