not as of yet im afraid, although different tyres on different sides could be handy for circuit racing

I must have been thinking of something else. *cough*GTR*cough*

Though, there are some settings that are asymmetrical, aren't there? Tire pressures or something?
Tire pressure and camber are Asymetrical IIRC Some other stuff might be, but I can't remember
Pressures are asymetrical as is camber. You want to be able to put softer tires on the inside and harder on the outside AND have the option for changing either lefts, rights, or both in the pits. Of course, my comments stem from Nascar stockcar racing where they change 2 tires on the same side at the same time. Thus giving you a pit strategy of changing outside tires only for a quicker time or all 4. In LFS, it changes each tire individually.
Quote from 510N3D :if this is a personal thing, please pm him, same to the comment you have made on the ZWR Radio Station Thread. Thanks alot.

No actually I was making a joke. He said he welcomes dogfights and the oval community (well most of the oval community) are really n00bish so if he welcomes dogfights then the community would get worse.
@ Nutter: hmmk, whatever

@mrodgers, asymetric tires are only 1 part of the cake, you need at least a asymetric suspension to compensate the forces that appears with these settings from my point of view and after all the Tests i have made. I tried to get faster or gain more control by playing around with the tires but either i could not find a optimal setup or its true that the suspension as described above is needed as well.

[FM]^Evensis ak sturje had nice settings with the older patch (FO8) and i think he sticked with the new patch and BF1 as well but he is not faster with this, i think. At least i tried these settings as well but i could not find any differences even if i tried to change my line while going more agressive into turns and stuff.

Im kind of sad about the fact that im not a pro at this technically stuff so most of the time i can only guess or do practice thats all. But i thank LFS and Nascar Series for bringing me forward on this

OT: Is the car in your Avatar supposed to have 4 wheel steering?
I don't think it does, I think it's just the angle of the pic.

Well i hope not, it should be a FWD but im not sure about this special version

heres the large version of it :

its little n large!

I was about to say The Co-Driver is tiny
big picture for a nice lil car?

yeah looks like he is sitting on the ground without a seat or just a small wooden box or he is really a small person but thats great, less weight to carry
Quote from 510N3D :I just have noticed, Spinjack, what is 4 wheel "steering", sounds strange and reminds me on monster trucks 4WheelDrive is what i know but i think theres another language barrier ?!

ok, googled:

or this one

Not to hijack the thread, but it looked like the rear wheel was angled outward. So the rear wheels where steering as well. Though not so pronounced in the larger image, it still appears as if the rear wheel on the car is toeing out quite a bit.

OT: I agree, looks like the toe in (out) has been modified but it could have been also the view angle or the corner/speed (or both togehter) that makes it looks like that.
Must be a strange driving but whatever, this is not Oval related so lets go back on topic. Btw and a last one on that subject, its pretty interesting that its possible to have a 4WS in a mordern Street Car.

Hows that: (I) Live for Oval

Watch out that you never park too close to a wall with 4WS
Quote from Crazy Harry :Watch out that you never park too close to a wall with 4WS

OT!!!: yeah but theres a AI hiding in the car somewhere and it checks the speed and adjusts the rear wheels on that but if this controller fails you could have a problem

Edit:
- Smaller turning radius and tight-space manoeuvrability at low vehicle speed range
- A centering lock spring is incorporated, which locks the rear system in a neutral (straightforward) position in the event of hydraulic failure
- Additionally, a solenoid valve that disengages hydraulic assist (thereby activating the centering lock spring) in case of an electrical failure is included

ok, but better not try parking to close to a wall, you never know what could happen with this Futuristic stuff

btw, Live for Oval =)
We need to get back to topic.

What about using the view keys? (left/right/behind)
Quote from nutty boy :We need to get back to topic.

lol, leave it to the [FM] guys to totally take a thread off-topic.

The oval is what got me started in LFS and that's all i used to race. But since the introduction of the BF1(aka..the noob magnet) i can't stand the oval. Probably a good 75% of the people on the BF1 oval servers can't drive the car because it's too powerful for them. Plus, it's too easy to catch/pass another car. And no one races the FO8 anymore. The FO8 is still a blast on the oval, but 99% of the oval servers run the BF1. I miss the old 3 wide, wheel to wheel action going into turn 3 with the FO8.

I cant really see how the bf1 being so powerfull makes it hard to drive oval! Other tracks maybe ! Oval out the foot down and your gone!

i know, i have no problems with it...but most people that i've "tried" to race with cannot keep the car in a straight line for more than a few laps.
